ALMIGHTY GOD WINS EVERY BATTLE – PART I

1 John 3:8  He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

2 Peter 3:10  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

[the day of the Lord will come ...] The 7th and last New Testament prophecy in 2 Peter (2 Peter 3:10-13, unfulfilled).  See The Day of the Lord.

[as a thief in the night]  1 Thessalonians 5:2  For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

[which the heavens shall pass away] In the day of the Lord the renovation of the earth will take place—not at the beginning of it, but at the end (2 Peter 3:7; Rev. 20:7-15).

[heavens] The atmospheric heavens, sun, moon and stars, not the New Heaven or the new earth

[pass away]                                           Pass Away—Change

Greek: parechomai (GSN-3928), pass away; pass from one condition to another.  It never means annihilation.  Used of:

1. Passing of time (time is now past, Matthew 14:15; 1 Peter 4:3)

2. Events coming to pass (Paul's fast was past, Acts 27:9)

3. The unchangeableness of God's Word—generations will pass and heaven and earth will be changed, but not the Word of God (Matthew 5:18; Matthew 24:34-35; Mark 13:30-31; Luke 16:17; Luke 21:32-33)

4. People passing by certain places (Matthew 8:28; Mark 6:48; Luke 18:37; Acts 16:8)

5. Denoting neglect (Pharisees passed over judgment and the love of God, Luke 11:42)

6. The coming of persons (come forth, Luke 12:37; go, Luke 17:7; came, Acts 24:7)

7. Never passing up duty (the prodigal's brother never transgressed, Luke 15:29)

8. Danger passing away (Jesus praying that the cup and the hour might pass, Matthew 26:39, 42; Mark 14:35)

9. Sins passing away (2 Cor. 5:17)

10. Dying (pass away, James 1:10)

11. Passing away of the heavens and the earth (2 Peter 3:10; Rev. 21:1), or the changing of them, like old things passing away and all things becoming new at the new birth (2 Cor. 5:17). In this last usage it means they will be:

(1) Purified by fire (2 Peter 3:7, 10-12)

(2) Delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the sons of God (Romans 8:21)

(3) Changed to a new state (Hebrews 1:10-12)

(4) Re-created or renewed to their original perfection (Hebrews 12:25-28; Isaiah 65:17; Isaiah 66:22-24; 1 Peter 3:13; Rev. 21:1)

(5) Cleansed of all the curse and its effects (Rev. 22:3)

[great noise] Greek: rhoizedon (GSN-4500), a rushing sound; swish; illustrating the length and suddenness of the renovation.

[elements] Greek: stoicheion (GSN-4747).  Translated "element" (2 Peter 3:10, 12; Galatians 4:3, 9); "rudiment" (Col. 2:8, 20); and "principle" (Hebrews 5:12). It has reference to the principles or basic elements of the present world system of evil spirits, sinful and fallen nature, germs, corruptions, and all elements by which people corrupt themselves.

[melt] Greek: luo (GSN-3089), to loose.  Translated "melt" (2 Peter 3:10); "dissolve" (2 Peter 3:11-12); "destroy" (John 2:19; 1 John 3:8); "break up" (Acts 13:43); "break" (Matthew 5:19; John 5:18; John 7:23; John 10:35; Acts 27:41; Ephes. 2:14); "put off" (Acts 7:33); "unloose" (Mark 1:7; Luke 3:16; John 1:27); "be loosing" (Luke 19:33); and "to loose" 23 times (Matthew 16:19; Matthew 18:18; Matthew 21:2; Mark 7:35; Mark 11:2-5; Luke 13:15-16; Luke 19:30-33; John 11:44; Acts 2:24; Acts 13:25; Acts 22:30; Acts 24:26; 1 Cor. 7:27; Rev. 5:2,5; Rev. 9:14-15; Rev. 20:3,7).  Here it means the loosing of the atmospheric heavens and the earth from the curse by fire, not their annihilation.

[fervent heat] Greek: kausoo (GSN-2741), burning heat (2 Peter 3:10, 12).

[earth] Greek: ge (GSN-1093), the ground (2 Peter 3:10).

[works] Greek:  ergon (GSN-2041), works, toil, deeds, labor, and acts of man. It is used of religious works as well as other kinds of work.

[burned up] Greek: katakaio (GSN-2618), to burn down to the ground; wholly consume with fire.  It has reference to the things of earth and of man that need to be removed, so that the things that need not be moved may remain eternally (Hebrews 12:25-28).

Zeph. 1:7

[the day of the LORD is at hand]            The Day of The Lord

The mention of the day of the Lord in Zeph. 1:17-18 indicates that this section of the prophecy is to be fulfilled in the future, at the second coming of Christ.

Fourteen Facts about the Day of the Lord:

1.   It is the day of the Lord's sacrifice. This definitely refers to the destruction of the multitudes at the battle of Armageddon (Zeph. 1:7-8; Isaiah 34:6; Jeremiah 46:10; Ezekiel 39:17-21; Rev. 19:11-21).

2.   His bidden guests in that day are to be the beasts and fowls that will eat the dead bodies—those slain at Armageddon (Ezekiel 39:17-21; Matthew 24:27-28; Luke 17:34-37; Rev. 19:17-21).

3.   Princes, king's children, robbers, merchants and all other classes will be destroyed in that day (Zeph. 1:8-18).

4.   It will be a day of desolation and destruction of houses and vineyards, and especially of men who should have enjoyed their homes and crops (Zeph. 1:13).

5.   It will be a great day of the Lord (Zeph. 1:14).

6.   It will be a day of wrath (Zeph. 1:15).

7.   It will be a day of trouble and distress.

8.   It will be a day of waste and desolation.

9.   It will be a day of darkness and gloominess.

10. It will be a day of clouds and thick darkness.

11. It will be a day of trumpet and alarm (Zeph. 1:16).

12. It will be a day of distress upon men so that they will walk like blind men (Zeph. 1:17).

13. It will be a day of bloodshed.

14. It will be a day of the Lord's wrath which men will not escape (Zeph. 1:18).

Ezekiel 18:19-20  Yet say ye, Why? doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hath done that which is lawful and right, and hath kept all my statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live. [20] The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

[Yet say ye ...] Israel found it difficult to reconcile this revelation with the law of Moses which said that God would visit the iniquities of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation (Exodus 20:4-5; Deut. 5:9).  They failed to get the message of the entire truth which said, "of them that hate Me." If the children hated God as their father did, then sins would be passed upon children, not because of their being children of a wicked father, but because of their own personal sins and walking in the sins of the father.  That is all God emphasized here.  A righteous father will live by his own righteousness (Ezekiel 18:5-9); a wicked father will die for his own sins (Ezekiel 18:18); a righteous son will live for his own righteousness (Ezekiel 18:14-17); and a wicked son will die for his own sins (Ezekiel 18:10-13).

[Why? doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father?]

[When the son hath done that which is lawful and right, and hath kept all my statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live] Again God emphasizes the perfectly just fact that when the son has done that which is lawful and right—has kept all My statutes, and has done them—he shall surely live and not die.  God would be unjust if He destroyed a son who had met all these conditions, if He judged and sent him to eternal hell only because he had a wicked father; yet this is what Israel was questioning here.

[2nd Chronicles 20:15]  And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.

It was for this purpose

the

Son of God was manifested!

1 John 3:8  He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Romans 3:21  But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; [22] Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: [23] For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; [24] Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: [25] Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; [26] To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

It was also for this purpose!

Luke 19:10  For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Who are the Lost?

Matthew 10:6  But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Matthew 15:24  But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

John 3:16-19  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. [17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. [18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. [19] And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. [20]  For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. [21] But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

It was also for this purpose!

The Son of God gave all of His disciples (believers, followers) power!

John 1:12  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Romans 8:14  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Romans 8:19  For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

Philip. 2:15  That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

1 John 3:1-2  Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. [2] Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

Jesus The Christ (Yeshua The Messiah), said unto the Sons of God;

Luke 10:19  Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

The Sons of God by the Blood of Jesus Christ (Yeshua The Messiah)

are to preach and proclaim!

[all have sinned] One must know and confess he is a sinner before he can be saved ( Luke 13:3, note; Acts 2:38; Acts 3:19; Romans 10:9-10; 1 John 1:9).

And Include That

1.   All have sinned (Romans 1:18-3:18, 23).

2.   All are guilty before God (Romans 3:19-20).

3.   The law itself cannot justify or forgive anyone (Romans 3:20).

4.   The law only condemns (Romans 3:20).

5.   God has provided redemption by faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 3:21-26).

6.   All boasting is excluded and man is helpless to save himself (Romans 3:27).

7.   People are justified only by accepting God's plan of redemption (Romans 3:28).

[short of the glory of God] This refers only to The glory of God (Genesis 1:26-28; Psalm 8; Rev. 21-22).

All disciples and born again believers in Jesus Christ (Yeshua The Messiah)

are Commanded of God!

Mark 16:15  And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

[Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature] A command for all believers.

[world] Greek: kosmos (GSN-2889), social system (2 Peter 3:6).

30. Justification by faith (Galatians 3:8)

Matthew 10:7  And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Matthew 10:1  And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

[called unto him his twelve disciples] Called unto Himself after praying all night to receive the will of God (Mark 3:13-14; Luke 6:12-19).

[gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease]

The power of God.

One cannot receive it until it is given and one cannot have it unless one repents of their sins (receives Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour), then it is freely given when one ask The Heavenly Father for it. One must "receive and accept it by faith" (John 3:27; Romans 8:25-28). It also must be used, for it to be of value to the receiver and it cannot be purchased or earned!

John 20:19  Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. [20] And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord. [21] Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

John 20:22  And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:

Jesus gave Power unto all Believers that receives Him

as their Lord and Saviour!

Matthew 28:18-20  And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. [19] Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: [20] Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Mark 16:15-18  And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. [16] He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. [17] And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; [18] They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Mark 16:19-20  So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. [20] And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

Acts 2:33  Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

[spoken unto them] Proofs Mark 16:9-20 are part of Mark:

1.   Greek Manuscripts.  There are over 4,200 Greek manuscripts of the New Testament.  At least 618 contain the gospels, and only two do not have these verses.

2.   Syriac versions.  Syriac is the first language into which the New Testament was translated.  The "Peshito" (150 A.D.) and "Curetonian" (3rd century) contain these verses.

3.   Latin versions. 8,000 of them now exist, copied from Jerome's Vulgate (382 A.D.) which contains these verses.  Jerome had access to the Greek testaments of his day, and his version was a revision of the Vetus Itala (2nd century), which also contains these verses.

4.   The Gothic version (350 A.D.) contains these verses.

5.   The Egyptian versions:  the Memphitic (Coptic), 4th century, and the Thebaic (Sahidic), 3rd century, contain these verses.

6.   The Armenian (5th century), the Ethiopic (4th century), and the Georgian (6th century), all have Mark 16:9-20.

7.   The Fathers.  Whether or not they are always right in doctrine, their testimony as to whether or not a verse or verses existed in their day is even more valuable than manuscripts and versions.  There are about 100 writers older than the oldest Greek manuscripts, and about 200 more of them between 300 and 600 A.D., and they all refer to these verses as being written by Mark as part of his gospel.  See the Ante-Nicene Fathers, which refers to these verses 16 times confirming Mark as their author.

8.   It is admitted by all that the overwhelming mass of witnesses—manuscripts, versions, and Fathers—are in favor of them, and that the two oldest Greek manuscripts—the Sinaitic and the Vatican—are the only two that do not have them.  It is also admitted that in one of these—the Vatican, a blank space is left for these verses, indicating that the chapter is incomplete.  It was not until the 4th century that they were questioned.

9.   The doctrines taught in these verses can be proved by many other Scriptures.

(1)  The appearances of Christ of Mark 16:9-14 are stated elsewhere. See  John 21:14.

(2)  The commission of Mark 16:15 to preach and baptize is stated in Matthew 28:19-20; Luke 24:47-53; Acts 1:1-8.

(3)  The result of preaching of Mark 16:16 is stated in John 3:16-20; 1 Cor. 1:18-21.

(4)  The signs to follow believers of Mark 16:17-18 are promised also in Matthew 10:1-8; Matthew 17:20; Mark 9:23; Mark 11:22-24; Luke 10:19; John 14:12.

(5)  The ascension of Mark 16:19 is stated in Luke 24:49-53; Acts 1:9-11.

(6)  The confirmation of the Word of Mark 16:20 by the signs of Mark 16:17-18 is recorded in Hebrews 2:3-4; Acts 2:43; Acts 5:16.

10. If we were to leave these verses out just because they are not in a few manuscripts, then to be consistent we must leave out great portions of the Bible.  For example, the Codex Vaticanus that leaves out Mark 16:9-20 which also leaves out Genesis 1-46; Psalm 105-137; Hebrews 9:14-13:25; and all of 1 Timothy and 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon, and Revelation.  Why leave out all of these portions if we are going to leave out Mark 16:9-20?  The way Mark ends his gospel and the fact that a few manuscripts do not contain these verses is no reason for leaving them out of the Bible. Since these verses are in perfect harmony with the other gospels and a necessary part of Mark, why question them further?

[up into heaven] Luke 24:49-53; John 3:13; John 6:62; Acts 1:9-11; Ephes. 4:8-10.

[right hand of God] Acts 2:33; Acts 7:56-57; Romans 8:34; Ephes. 1:20; Col. 3:1; Hebrews 1:3; Hebrews 8:1; Hebrews 10:12; Hebrews 12:2; 1 Peter 3:22.

Matthew 28:19  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

John 1:14  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

John 1:18  No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

John 5:30  I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

Matthew 28:19

[therefore ...] In view of My authority, I commission you with full power of attorney to carry on the work that I have started (note, John 16:23).

Great Commission Fourfold:

1. Go. This applies to all believers, not only preachers. The invitation to salvation is for all alike, so why should not the responsibility of getting the invitation to others be for all alike? We have the same rights, privileges, promises, and provision for equipment for service, so all should help in every possible way to evangelize the world according to our ability and direction from God. There is no excuse for millions of church members leaving this work to only a few who seek to obey the Great Commission.

2. Teach (Greek:  matheteuo (GSN-3100), to make disciples, enroll as a learner or pupil).  Used only here and in Matthew 13:52; Matthew 27:57; Acts 14:21. Not the ordinary word for teaching, as in point 4 below.

3. Baptize all disciples. See, Matthew 3:6 and Acts 8:38.

4. Teaching (Greek: didasko (GSN-1321), give instruction). It is translated "teach" 93 times. The idea here is more that of instructing than of enrolling disciples to be taught.

[in the name of] This means "by the authority of."  Here it means by the authority of all three persons and not by the authority of Jesus only. He is the one authorizing us to recognize the others as well as Himself. This will help us to understand Acts 2:38; Acts 8:16; Acts 10:48; Acts 19:5.  It is by the authority of Jesus Christ that we baptize at all, and it is by His authority that we baptize in the name of (by the authority of) all three persons.

[Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost] Some argue that these are not names, but the dictionary says that the word name is "any word" or "title" by which any person or thing is known.  This is not just any Father, any Son, or any Holy Ghost, but it is the Father of Jesus Christ, and the Son of the Father, and the Holy Ghost, the third person of the Divine Three.  Any Bible reader would know who these three persons are if mentioned by these names in any scripture.

It is written in the prophets!

[Isaiah 54:13]

John 6:45  It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me. [Isaiah 54:13]

John 15:16  Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

Acts 1:4  And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

Acts 2:33  Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

Joel 2:28  And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

Acts 2:1-4  And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. [2] And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. [3] And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. [4] And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

In Water Baptism as well as Holy Ghost Baptism!

Romans 6:4  Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Therefore the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the warnings

and the Wrath of God must be declared and proclaimed loudly!

1 John 2:15-16  Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. [16] For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

2 John 1:3  Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

Almighty God wins,

and so does every born again believer that is covered by

The Blood of Jesus Christ and their name is written in the Lambs book of Life!

2 Thes. 2:8  And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

[And then shall that Wicked be revealed] And then.  When?  When he who hinders will be taken out of the way, "then shall that Wicked be revealed" (2 Thes. 2:7-8).  Antichrist cannot possibly come until after the rapture of 1 Thes. 4:13-16. All who go in the rapture will not be here during the days of Antichrist and during the tribulation of Rev. 6:1-9:21; Matthew 24:15-21; Daniel 12:1.

[that Wicked] "That Wicked" is the "little horn" of Daniel 7:8, 24; Daniel 8:9, 23; "the prince that shall come" of Daniel 9:26-27; "the king of the north" of Daniel 11:36-45; "the man of sin of" 1 Thes. 2:3,4,8; "the beast" of Rev. 13:1-18; Rev. 14:9-11; Rev. 15:2-4; Rev. 16:2-16; Rev. 17:1-18; Rev. 19:19-21; Rev. 20:10.

[antichrist]                                                        The Antichrist

Anyone against Christ is antichrist.  In this sense there are many (1 John 2:18, 22; 1 John 4:3; 2 John 1:7), but the one referred to here is yet to come.

Fifteen Titles of the Antichrist:

1.   Antichrist (1 John 2:18)

2.   The Assyrian (Isaiah 10:20-27; Isaiah 30:18-33; Isaiah 31:4-32:20; Micah 5:3-15)

3.   The King of Babylon (Isaiah 14:4)

4.   The Spoiler ( Isaiah 16:4)

5.   The Extortioner (Isaiah 16:4)

6.   Gog, the Chief Prince of Meshech and Tubal ( Ezekiel 38:2-3)

7.   The little horn (Daniel 7:8, 24; Daniel 8:9, 23)

8.   King of Fierce Countenance (Daniel 8:23)

9.   The Prince that Shall come ( Daniel 9:26-27)

10. The King of the north (Daniel 11:5-45)

11. The Man of sin (2 Thes. 2:1-12)

12. The Son of perdition (2 Thes. 2:1-12)

13. The Wicked (Isaiah 11:4)

14. That Wicked (2 Thes. 2:8-12)

15. The Beast (Daniel 7:11; Rev. 13)

Twenty-one Facts about the Antichrist

1. Called "the man of sin" because he will be the embodiment of lawlessness and leader of the great apostasy of 2 Thes. 2:3,8-12; Rev. 13:1-18; Rev. 14:9-13; Rev. 15:2-4; Rev. 16:2-12).

2. Called "the son of perdition," because of being destined to destruction by his rebellion, like Judas or any other man who sells himself to Satan (2 Thes. 2:3,8-12; Rev. 13:2; Daniel 8:24; Daniel 11:37-39).

3. He is to be revealed (2 Thes. 2:3).

4. He will be the opposer of God (2 Thes. 2:4).

5. He will exalt himself above God (2 Thes. 2:4).

6. He will accept worship as God (2 Thes. 2:4).

7. His worship will be carried on in the future Jewish temple at Jerusalem (2 Thes. 2:4; Daniel 8:10-14,23-27; Daniel 9:27; Daniel 11:36-45; Daniel 12:1-7; Matthew 24:15-21; Rev. 11:1-2; Rev. 13:1-18; Rev. 14:9-11; Rev. 15:2-4; Rev. 16:2-12; Rev. 20:4-6).

8. He will claim to be God (2 Thes. 2:4).

9. He has a time to be revealed (2 Thes. 2:6).

10. Something now holds back or hinders his revelation (2 Thes. 2:7; Luke 4:42)

11. The spirit of lawlessness now works preparing for his revelation (2 Thes. 2:7).

12. The mystery of iniquity, or spirit of lawlessness cannot reveal him until the hinderer of lawlessness be taken out of the world (2 Thes. 2:7).

13. When the hinderer of lawlessness is taken out of the world, then shall that wicked be revealed (2 Thes. 2:7-8).

14. When the wicked is revealed he will live until the second coming of Christ, will head the armies at Armageddon and will be destroyed by Christ (2 Thes. 2:8; Rev. 19:11-21; Daniel 7:24-28; Daniel 8:23-27; Daniel 9:27; Daniel 11:36-45; Daniel 12:1-7; Matthew 24:15-31).

15. He is a man, for he will be killed by Christ at Armageddon (2 Thes. 2:8; Daniel 7:11; Daniel 8:25; Isaiah 11:4; Rev. 19:11-21). This man could not be Judas or someone else who has died already (Hebrews 9:27).

16. He will be Satan's agent and his last attempt to raise up a world dictator (2 Thes. 2:9; Daniel 8:24; Daniel 11:37-39; Rev. 13:2).

17. He will have miraculous powers from Satan (2 Thes. 2:9; Daniel 8:24; Daniel 11:37-39; Rev. 13:2, 11-18; Rev. 16:13-16; Rev. 19:20; Matthew 24:24).

18. He will be a deceiver (2 Thes. 2:10; Daniel 8:24-25; Daniel 9:27; Daniel 11:36-45; Matthew 24:15-31; Rev. 13:1-18; Rev. 19:20).

19. Only those who are lost will follow him (2 Thes. 2:10-12; Rev. 13:1-18; Rev. 14:9-11; Rev. 16:13-16; Rev. 19:20).

20. The reason for people being deceived by him is that they have rejected truth, loved sin, and refused salvation (2 Thes. 2:11-12).

21. He will be a great delusion and a lie (2 Thes. 2:11-12; Daniel 8:10-14, 25; Daniel 11:39).

[the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming] Whoever the Antichrist will be he will fulfill many prophecies and be slain by Christ at Armageddon (Daniel 7:11; Isaiah 11:4; Rev. 19:19-21).

[consume] Greek:  analisko (GSN-355), to kill, destroy (2 Thes. 2:8; Luke 9:54; Galatians 5:15).  Other scriptures speak of his being slain by Christ (Daniel 7:11; Daniel 8:23-25; Daniel 9:27; Daniel 11:45; Isaiah 11:4).  This does not contradict Rev. 19:20, for this passage only shows that after he is slain he will be cast into conscious and eternal torment along with others (Matthew 25:41,46; Rev. 19:20; Rev. 20:10).  The fact that he will be slain disproves the theories of Antichrist being Judas or some other historical man resurrected as the beast of Rev. 13.  If he were a resurrected man he could not be slain.  It is not necessary for Judas or some other historical man to be brought back from death to fulfill Scripture.  A future man could do this, as well as one of the past.

However, a Holy Prophet of God, being a righteous and a Holy man of God can not or could not be used of Satan in any way.

Since Jesus Christ shed His Blood and died on the Cross of Calvary for the remission of sins and especially the absolute fact of Jesus Christ arising back to life again the third day and ascending to the Heavenly Fathers right side in Heaven defeated Satan (that old dragon Rev. 12:7-9; 20:2, 7-10)

[destroy] Greek: katargeo (GSN-2673); see Ephes. 2:15.

[Satan shall be loosed out of his prison] Satan's post-millennial career and doom:

1.   When the 1,000 years are up it will be time for the separation and destruction of all rebels, including Satan and the renovation of the heavens and the earth by fire, which will result in the New Heaven and New Earth (2 Peter 3:10-13; Rev. 20:7-10; Rev. 21:1-22:5).

2.   Satan, his angels and demons will be loosed from the abyss (Rev. 20:7; Isaiah 24:22).

3.   Satan and his hosts will go throughout the earth to deceive the nations who have not wanted the reign of Christ and who, in their hearts, have longed for an opportunity to get rid of such strict laws and rigid suppression of their lusts (Rev. 20:8; Ephes. 2:1-3).

4.   The rebels will mobilize in the land of Gog and Magog, north of Palestine in Asia and ascend upon Jerusalem from the north (Rev. 20:8; cp. Ezekiel 38-39 which refers to the same part of the earth, but to an event before the Millennium).

5.   The rebels from all parts of the earth will surround the camp of the saints and the capital, Jerusalem (Rev. 20:9).

6.   Fire will come down from God out of heaven and devour every rebel (Rev. 20:9; 2 Peter 3:10-13).

7.   The devil will be taken and cast into the lake of fire forever (Rev. 20:10).

Rev. 20:7-10  And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, [8] And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. [9] And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. [10] And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

I saw a great white throne!

Rev. 20:11-22:21  And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. [12] And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

[13] And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. [14] And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. [15] And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

[21:1] And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. [2] And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. [3] And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. [4] And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

[5] And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. [6] And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. [7] He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. [8] But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. [9] And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife. [10] And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

[11] Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal; [12] And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: [13] On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. [14] And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. [15] And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof. [16] And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. [17] And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel. [18] And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass. [19] And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; [20] The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.

[21] And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass. [22] And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. [23] And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

[24] And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. [25] And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. [26] And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. [27] And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

[22:1] And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. [2] In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

[3] And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: [4] And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.

[5] And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever. [6] And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.

[7] Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book. [8] And I John saw
