ANOINTING AND ANOINTED PRAYER - PART I

Prayer and Speaking:

James 5:12-15  But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation. [13] Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. [14] Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: [15] And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. [16]  Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

When you pray!

At the beginning of every discussion or talk with our Heavenly Father, we must first begin by praising Our Heavenly Father and we will use the example as the Lord taught us and the Disciples when He taught the Disciples how top pray what is commonly called the Lord’s prayer!

Matthew 6:9  After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

[After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven ...]

Twenty-three Elements in the Lord's Prayer

1.   Relationship: Our Father, (Who He is)

2.   Recognition: which art in heaven (Where He is, even though He is NOT limited as to location)

3.   Adoration: Hallowed be thy name (give Him praise)

4.   Anticipation: Thy kingdom come

5.   Consecration: Thy will be done

6.   Universality: in earth

7.   Conformity: as it is in heaven

8.   Supplication: Give us

9.   Definiteness: this day

10. Necessity: our daily bread

11. Penitence: And forgive us

12. Obligation: our debts

13. Forgiveness: as we forgive

14. Love and mercy: our debtors

15. Guidance: And lead us

16. Protection: not into temptation

17. Salvation: but deliver us

18. Righteousness: from evil

19. Faith: For thine is the kingdom

20. Humility: and the power

21. Reverence: and the glory

22. Timelessness: for ever

23. Affirmation: Amen

Note: the first 3 petitions of the prayer make 7 points concerning God; the last 4 petitions make 16 points concerning man.

Matthew 6:10  Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

[Thy kingdom come] The prayer of believers for the coming kingdom and the second coming of Christ (Zech. 14; Rev. 11:15; Rev. 19:11-20:10; Matthew 25:31-46).

[Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven] Ten facts about God's will:

1.   Pray for it to be done on earth (Matthew 6:10).

2.   Make doing it our food (John 4:34).

3.   Seek it as Christ did (John 5:30).

4.   Understand it (Ephes. 5:17).

5.   Do it from the heart (Ephes. 6:6).

6.   Live it (1 Peter 2:11-17).

7.   For all to be saved (1 Tim. 2:4; 2 Peter 3:9).

8.   Not be conformed to world (Romans 12:2).

9.   Possess own body in holiness (1 Thes. 4:3-4; 1 Cor. 3:16-17; 1 Cor. 6:19-20).

10. To ask what you will (John 15:7).

Matthew 6:12-13  And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. [13] And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

[And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil] Asking the Lord not permit us to be overcome by evil and deliver us from all evil.

[For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen] Some critics omit this doxology (recognition of submission unto Almighty God’s Holy, Righteous, Divine, Sovereign, Supreme Authority and Divine Glory), but out of over 500 codices which contain this prayer only 8 omit it.

In the Book “writings” of Luke!

Luke 11:2  And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

[he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.  Thy kingdom come.  They will be done, as in heaven, so in earth] This proves that Jesus repeated the same doctrines at different times and places.  The principles of this prayer make the first lessons on prayer in answer to the request of Luke 11:1.

Seven Lessons on Prayer

1.   Stay within the bounds of certain general principles of prayer and learn:

(1)   How to begin (Luke 11:2; Matthew 11:25)

(2)   Whom to address (Luke 11:2; John 14:13-15; John 15:16; John 16:23-26; note  Matthew 6:9)

(3)   Whose name to revere (Luke 11:2)

(4)   Whose will to obey (Luke 11:2)

(5)   Whose interests to serve and have at heart (Luke 11:2; Matthew 22:37)

(6)   What to ask for (Luke 11:2-4)

(7)   How to keep clear channels to God (Luke 11:4; 1 John 3:21-22)

(8)   How to live with our fellowmen (Luke 11:4; Mark 11:25-26; Ephes. 4)

(9)   How to live with God (Luke 11:4; 1 John 1:3-9; John 17:2-3)

(10) How to live free from sin (Luke 11:4; Romans 6:16-23; Romans 8:12-13)

2.   Be bold as the friends of God—importune, urge with frequent solicitation, be tenacious in purpose, stubbornly adhering to a purpose; continue steadily, incessant, refuse to give an inch; be desperate, demanding, insistent, eager, and troublesome in pursuit of what God has promised (Luke 11:5-8; Luke 18:1-8; Hebrews 4:14-16; Hebrews 10:19-23,36).

3.   Believe in and have confidence in the absolute certainty of answered prayer with no wavering or doubt as to the final outcome (Luke 11:9-10; Matthew 7:7-11; Matthew 17:20; Matthew 21:21; Mark 9:23; Mark 11:22-24; John 14:12-15; John 15:7,16; John 16:23-26; Hebrews 11:6; James 1:5-8; 1 John 3:19-22; 1 John 5:14-15).

4.   Believe in and have confidence in the infinite fatherhood of God, realizing that He is at least as interested in our welfare as an earthly parent, that He will give all things which are best to His children, and that He will give exactly what is asked according to His will and Word (Luke 11:11-13; Matthew 7:7-11; 1 John 3:19-22; 1 John 5:14-15; Psalm 84:11).

5.   Believe in and know beyond all possible doubt that it is the will of God for His children to get what they will and want (Luke 11:9-13; Psalm 23:1; Psalm 34:9-10; Psalm 84:11; Matthew 17:20; Matthew 21:21; Mark 11:22-24; John 15:7).

6.   Believe in and ask God for the Holy Spirit, the all-inclusive gift, who will enable us to pray and get answers (Luke 11:13; Romans 8:26-27; Ephes. 2:18; Ephes. 6:18; Jude 1:20; John 7:37-39).

7.   Believe in and never question it—that God will answer each person who prays right, not just a few special ones (Luke 11:9-13; Matthew 7:7-11; Mark 9:23; Mark 11:24; John 14:12-15; Romans 2:11).

Anyone who learns and practices this lesson will get answers’

from The Heavenly Father every time!

Luke 11:3-4 Give us day by day our daily bread. [4] And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

Now that our base for this lesson has been established;

Lets’ begin:                        Simple Prayer but yet very complex and meaningful!

There are many types of attitudes and reasons for presenting our thoughts needs and desires unto The Heavenly Father. Some people (when they pray) just simply go through a routine or say “The Lord’s Prayer” as a matter of simply quoting it without seriously meaning it from their heart, they just simply quote it. Others’ seriously mean it from their heart. Others’ yet, simply quote it because they don’t seriously know how to pray or what to say when they pray. Others’ use the “Lord’s Prayer” because it is a prayer of generality and doesn’t go into a lot of individuality or personal attitudes, statements or reasons for praying. Others when they quote it, don’t feel a lot of personal guilt and yet they can say that they prayed and felt good when they Prayed unto the Heavenly Father.

A Childs attitude!

Saying the Lord’s Prayer, “just quoting it, as you would memorize it,” is like a child would say their bedtime prayers and their not understanding what they were saying. For example, one bedtime prayer that is taught is, “Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep, if I should die before I awake, I pray the Lord my soul to take, God bless Mommy and Daddy and, and, etc., Amen.”

Also, at morning breakfast (if there is or was one), we would pray, “Thank you Lord for the world so sweet, thank you Lord for this food we eat, thank you Lord for the birds that sing, thank you Lord for everything, Amen”

Therefore having a child’s attitude when praying unto The Heavenly Father, gives the child or person altitude with The Heavenly Father!

Matthew 19:14  But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

[Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me] Permit or allow and do not hinder.

[for of such is the kingdom of heaven] Children under the age of accountability are saved (Matthew 18:1-10; Matthew 19:14).  Exact accountable age is not known.

Luke 18:16  But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

Child like faith!

Mark 11:24  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Praying unto our Heavenly Father with the attitude as a child would ask its mother for a good night kiss or hug, “Mommy, can I, rather may I, have a good night kiss?”  Naturally, without hesitation you would give your child a goodnight kiss and a great big hug. They knew that you would, if they ask! They have very simple faith, knowing that they would get what they asked you for if they would ask.

Matthew 7:9  Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? [10] Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? [11]  If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

Luke 11:11  If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? [12]  Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? [13] If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

Attitudes make a big difference when we pray!

When we come to the Lord in prayer with a broken and a contrite heart for one reason or another, Psalm 51:17  The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

It is not recorded or found in the Holy Scriptures, that the Heavenly Father ever REFUSED anyone that came to Him when they had a broken and a contrite heart, attitude, or spirit!

[The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit:  a broken and a contrite heart] Two sacrifices are always acceptable unto Him.

1. A broken spirit.  Hebrew: shabar (HSN-7665), to shiver; break in pieces; reduce to splinters.

2. A broken and contrite heart.  Hebrew: dakah (HSN-1794), to crumble; beat to pieces; bruise; crush; humble (Psalm 51:8,17; Psalm 38:8; Psalm 44:19); nakeh (HSN-5223), smitten; maimed; dejected; contrite; lame (Isaiah 66:2).

[thou wilt not despise] God won't despise a broken and contrite spirit or heart because of His infinite compassion, mercy, and grace which are promised to all who are crushed and beaten to pieces by sin and satanic powers.

When we surrender to the Lord’s will being in complete obedience unto Him, sometimes The Lord’s answer is no, or later, or never, but He always answers every prayer of the righteous (true repentant believer).

When Jesus, The Son of God prayed unto The Heavenly Father when He was in the garden, He said showing obedience and humbleness unto The Heavenly Father when He prayed saying, “not my will, but thine be done!”

Luke 22:39-44  And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him. [40] And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation. [41] And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, [42] Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. [43] And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. [44] And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. [45]  And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow, [46] And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.

Therefore, “it was the will of God” The Heavenly Father that Jesus Christ His Only Begotten Son pay the Supreme Sacrifice for our sins and the sins of every TRUE REPENTANT BELIEVER that came or comes to Him out of a broken and a contrite heart asking Him for forgiveness of their sins.

Therefore, Jesus Christ The Only Begotten Son of Almighty God, The Heavenly Father, willingly and in obedience unto The Heavenly Father, paid a debt that He did NOT owe, I DID. Jesus Christ, The Only Begotten Son of Almighty God, paid my debt for me with His life and His shed blood by His being crucified on the Cross of Calvary in my place.

By my repentance and praying unto (now) my Heavenly Father I asked my Heavenly Father to forgive me of all my sins and I asked Jesus Christ to come into my heart. I confess Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour because I know that The Heavenly Father raised Jesus Christ from the dead three days after He died on the cross for the remission of my sins and my Heavenly Father sit Jesus Christ at The Heaven Fathers’ right side Who now makes intercession for me when I pray unto my Heavenly Father. (Romans 10:9-13, 8:26-27, 34; Luke 23:32-24:24, 37-40; Acts 1:8-11) Jesus Christ The Son of God, is coming back to earth again in like manner as He was seen going into Heaven!

When you Pray!

1 John 5:13-15  These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

Verse 14-…If we ask any thing according to his will!

Verse 15-…And if we know that he hear us!

Verse 15-…We know that we have the petitions that we desired of him!

[14] And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: [15] And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

How do you pray and get what you want

or need from the Lord?

James 5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. [16]  Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Partial breakdown!

Effectual} = that which is, Holy and Righteous Spiritual Emotion which produces or is producing!

Fervent}  = ardent = marked by warmth of emotion, passionate, shinning, glowing, hot as fire, very hot!

Prayer}   = a devout petition expressed to Almighty God!

Righteous} = standards, by that which is Holy, Truth, Just, Correct and Right and approved of and respected by The Eyes of The Heavenly Father Himself (Almighty God)!

Availeth} = that, to “be” or which “is” or “becomes’” present!

As we further explain the “effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much,” we would express it something like this!

Praying to the Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ, in a very determined and absolute manner of speech that is spoken from your heart, such as “I know” in “Whom” “I believeth” and that “He”(Almighty God) “is” “able” “to keep”(knowing He will not loose it) “that” (your soul)“which I have committed” “unto Him”(you gave it to Him and asked Him to take it) “against that day.” It leaves out all questioning and doubt because, you absolutely know! You absolutely know, in “Whom” you believe, you have stated it with all of your heart and you know that He knows and you do NOT have any doubt about it!

When you are in agreement with someone (including The Lord) with that kind of fervor and determination from the bottom of your heart (all of your heart) and especially when you are broken hearted (which the Lord has never refused anyone with a broken heart and never will), The Lord hears your prayer and will grant the petition that you have asked of Him if it is asked of Him according to James 4:17. The Lord will NOT grant a petition that is asked of Him that is sinful or that is NOT glorifying to The Lord (1 John 5:15  And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him).

Holy Ghost Anointing!

The Holy Ghost does “NOT” doubt God! He has no reason or purpose for doubting God, if He did! Holy Ghost makes intercession for us and God understands exactly what The Holy Ghost is saying, even though you don’t understand a word or syllable that is being said. It is almost like being left completely out of the conversation between the Holy Ghost and God although “YOU” and your needs or others (depending on the circumstances), are the ones’ They are speaking about. Their conversation is almost like your attorney talking to the Judge without you knowing what is being said and they are both working things out for your specific benefit and purposes,’ whereas, you reap the benefits!

Romans 8:26-27  Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. [27] And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Another reason that most people don’t speak in the Unknown Tongues of the Holy Ghost is, they don’t trust something that they can’t control or know, because of their lack of confidence in God. Most people want to know, exactly what is being said, so they can control the circumstance and the reason for that is because of their own fear of not knowing. Because of their paranoia, they have a problem releasing or turning loose of the circumstance (problem) asking the Lord to work out the problem (circumstance) for them and then letting Him do it.  Trust God!

If people already know how to solve the circumstance (problem), normally, it is very seldom discussed with the Lord, unless they begin running into problems that we don’t know how to solve or be in control of! Many people don’t trust anything that they can’t see, smell, taste, hear or touch and just as often, they don’t trust themselves!  Trust God!

We the Children of God can See God “in the Holy Spirit” “if” there is “no sin” in our life (Dan. 3:25; Acts 7:57).

[Spirit also helpeth our infirmities]

Twelve Blessings of the Holy Spirit

1. He sets free from sin (Romans 8:2).

2. He cancels death penalty (Romans 8:2).

3. He fulfills righteousness (Romans 8:4-5).

4. He indwells believers (Romans 8:9-11).

5. He gives life (Romans 8:10).

6. He quickens the mortal body (Romans 8:11).

7. He mortifies sinful members (Romans 8:13).

8. He leads children of God (Romans 8:14).

9. He adopts into God's family (Romans 8:15).

10. He bears witness of sonship (Romans 8:16).

11. He helps infirmities (Romans 8:26).

12. He makes intercession for saints (Romans 8:26).

[helpeth] Greek: sunantilambanomai (GSN-4878), joint help.  It is the assistance afforded by any two persons to each other, who mutually bear the same load or carry it between them.

[infirmities] Our physical, mental, or moral weakness or flaws (notice, Matthew 8:17).

[for we know not what we should pray for as we ought] We would make many mistakes in prayer if the Spirit did not inspire us with proper desires and help us fulfill those desires in the will of God.

[itself] Himself, for He is a person.

[intercession] Greek: huperentungchano (GSN-5241), to apply one's self to intercede for another.

[groanings] Greek: stenagmos (GSN-4726), unutterable gushings of the heart. (Also, Acts 7:34.)

Acts 2:1-4  And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. [2] And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. [3] And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. [4] And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Notice, that these people were all “in agreement” being in one accord! They were “NOT” fussing, arguing disagreeing or fighting, but in harmony (unity).

Notice, that these people were all very determined, excited, enthused, effectual, fervent and were righteous, edifying, praising and glorifying God, again all while in unity with one another and God!  (Wow, try and get 120 people together today to be in Unity and in one accord (purpose) in Holiness unto God!)

Notice, that “when” these people were “filled” with The Holy Ghost, “they” began to speak (audibly, out loud) with their mouth while they were praising the Lord.

I wonder

What would happen if 5,000 - 10,000 or more, all at the same time were in unity, in one accord, in one place were praising and glorifying God and they begin to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance the same as it was on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:4). What would happen if they all continued and went to their work places, ’offices’ machine or welding shops, stores, supermarkets and such, all being in unity and in agreement with Almighty God, demonstrating the Lord of God unto others (with everyone speaking in Unknown Tongues of the Holy Ghost)? Souls would be saved, people healed, miracles taking place for the glory of God, problems solved, needs met and “no one” upset or mad at the other because of each having the peace of God and the comforting power of the Holy Ghost in their hearts and lives (Acts 2:5-9)!

My friends, all nations need a modern day revival in their land, the renewing of their Spirit, attitudes and personalities, “all being changed” for the good. All having the Joy and Peace of Almighty God (‘Yahweh and Yeshua) that cannot be found by any other means’ other then by The Power and The Love of God (Zechariah 4:1-6; 1st Corinthians 12:3-11)!

When you pray!

And you feel the great swelling up from within your Body, Spirit and Soul to the extent that you feel that you are going to burst wide open and at the same time you feel that Great and glorious fervent effectual burning heat from within getting hotter and hotter. You know that you are on (Spiritual and Holy) fire for the Lord Jesus Christ to win souls to The Lord and see His Miracles of signs, wonders and might deeds, including the raising people from the dead, that the Heavenly Father directs from the dead and their life breath come back into them again for the glory of God (Psalms 91: 1- ; John 11:14, 43, 12:1, 9, 12:17, 14:12).

It is at that time you are to continue praying in the mighty name of Jesus Christ according to Matthew 16:19, 18:18-20 knowing that it is the Heavenly Father that doeth the Works (John 14:10  Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works).
