BORN OF GOD

VS.

CREATED OF GOD - PART I

The main “word” of our text for study is “BEGOTTEN”

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

#1 = fact.

Therefore Jesus Christ was “Begotten” and, was the ONLY “Begotten” of God, by which God chose of the Angels. Before Jesus The Anointed One (Christ) was named Jesus, His name was also called “Immanuel” or Emmanuel (before He was born of the virgin, Mary (Matt. 1:23; Luke1:27), meaning God “is” with us or “is in” our presence by Him and because, The Almighty is “IN” Him,(Isaiah 7:14, 8:8; John 10:38, 14:10, 14:20) and in Rev 22:16, Jesus was called the Bright and Morning Star, He is also referred to in Numbers 24:17 as the Star (Spirit), also known as The Star (Spirit) in the East (by the three wise men). (More about this study, in another lesson!)

Begotten

To have born; brought forth.

1st John 5:1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is BEGOTTEN of him.

Begotten:

BEGOT', BEGOT'TEN, pp. of get. Procreated; generated.

Bellow phrased word “sundry:” polumeros, Greek 4181, Strong’s

polumeros, pol-oo-mer'-oce; adverb from a compound of Greek 4183 (polus) and Greek 3313 (meros); in many portions, i.e. variously as to time and agency (piecemeal) :- at sundry times and (divers) different manners.

Hebrews 1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, [2] Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; [3] Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

{{{Whereas, the Fathers shown above are: such as Adam, Enoch (the seventh from Adam), Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and etc.  Whereas, the word “he” (being Christ that made the worlds) being in the express image of Almighty God, Christ’s Heavenly Father. Whereas, He (Christ) by Himself, purged our sins and sat down on the right hand of His (Christ’s) Heavenly Father on High.}}}

Hebrews 1:4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. [5] For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? [6] And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. [7] And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

{{{ Therefore, before The Son of God (Christ) became The ONLY “BEGOTTEN” Son of Almighty God or known as Jesus The Christ (the Holy Anointed One), He was an Angel in Heaven and because He (verse 9 below) loved righteousness and hated iniquity (sin, evil).  The Heavenly Father, (His (Christ’s) God) anointed Christ with the oil of gladness ABOVE HIS FELLOWS!

At that time, The Heavenly Father gave His ONLY BEGOTTEN SON

A Name that is above HIS OWN name and

However, The Heavenly Father “still” did NOT bestow upon His Only “Begotten” Son, all knowledge or all authority of which Only The Heavenly Father obtained and maintained (Matt. 20:23; Mark 10:40, 13:32). Therefore, Christ could not give away something that was not His or tell what He did “NOT” know. Therefore, Jesus Christ was “NOT” God, The Heavenly Father! The Heavenly Father, made Christ (the Only Begotten Son of God) heir to the Throne of God (His Father) by Bestowing His (God’s) OWN Name upon Him (Christ) thereby, claiming Jesus Christ as His (God’s) own by adoption

Mark 14:36 And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt. {notice, Jesus also Cried Abba Father}  Romans 8:15; Galatians 4:6). Jesus was also named as the Everlasting Father (Isaiah 9:6), as the Everlasting Father of Creation. }}}

Hebrews 1:8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. [9] Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. [10] And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: [11] They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; (Also, see Isaiah 45:11)

Hebrews 1:12 And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail. [13] But to which of the angels said he at any times, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? [14] Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

Hebrews 1:1

[God] This is God the Father, the head of Christ and the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 8:6; 1 Cor. 11:3; Matthew 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14; Ephes. 4:4-6; 1 John 5:7).

[sundry times and in divers manners] In many parts in many ways (Isaiah 28:10).  From all these portions we get a perfect harmony, as in musical sounds made up of different parts.  There is only one plan of God for man.  All the prophets gave perfect and harmonious testimony that Jesus Christ was the Son of God and Savior of the world (Acts 10:43).

[in time past] Greek: palai (GSN-3819), of old.  Here; Matthew 11:21; Mark 15:44; Luke 10:13; 2 Peter 1:9; Jude 1:4.

[by] Greek: en (GSN-1722), in the prophets.  The Holy Spirit indwelt the prophets and spoke through them in the same manner He dwells in men today.  That men in Old Testament days had the Holy Spirit is clear.

Christ Better than Prophets

1. Creator of prophets (Hebrews 1:1-3)

2. Lord and Master of prophets (Hebrews 1:1-2; Matthew 22:41-46; 1 Peter 1:10-13)

3. Only begotten Son of God (Hebrews 1:1-3; John 1:18; John 3:16-20)

4. God manifest in flesh (John 1:14)

5. Sinless (1 Peter 2:21-22)

6. Had greater anointing (John 3:34)

7. Fulfillment of their writings (Luke 24:25, 44-45; 1 Peter 1:10-13)

8. Heir of all things (Hebrews 1:2)

9. Planner of the ages (Hebrews 1:2)

10. Brightness of God's glory (Hebrews 1:3)

11. Express image of God's person (Hebrews 1:3; Phil. 2:5-11)

12. Upholder of all things (Hebrews 1:3)

13. God's perfect sacrifice (Hebrews 1:3, 9; Hebrews 9:11-28; Hebrews 10:1-18)

14. Savior of prophets (Hebrews 1:3; Hebrews 7:25; 1 Peter 1:10-13)

15. Exalted higher than prophets (Hebrews 1:3; 1 Peter 3:22)

Hebrews 1:2

[by] Greek: en (GSN-1722), Hebrews 1:1. There is no definite article here and no pronoun "his".  It simply reads, "in Son," emphasizing not only His sonship, but that He is the only Son in the sense of being begotten (John 1:14, 18; John 3:16, 18).  Under the Old Testament there were many parts, ways, and persons used in
speaking to men, but in the New Testament all was done through the Son who fulfilled the law and the prophets and made the new covenant (Matthew 26:28; Acts 1:2).

[Son]

Eight Facts about Christ

1. Spokesman for God (Hebrews 1:2)

2. Appointed heir of all things, “if” Christ were already Almighty God, He would “NOT” have been APPOINTED heir to something that He already had (Hebrews 1:2)

3. Planner of the worlds (ages, Hebrews 1:2)

4. Brightness of God's glory (Hebrews 1:3)

5. Express (exact) image of God's Person (Hebrews 1:3)

6. Upholder of all creations (Hebrews 1:3)

7. Savior of the world—purged sins (Hebrews 1:3)

8. Ascension and exaltation (Hebrews 1:3)

[appointed] Greek: tithemi (GSN-5087), appoint (Hebrews 1:2; Matthew 24:51; Luke 12:46; 2 Tim. 1:11; 1 Peter 2:8); ordain (John 15:16; 1 Tim. 2:7); set forth John 2:10).

[heir of all things] Romans 8:17-18; 1 Peter 1:4; Acts 26:18.

[worlds] Greek: aion (GSN-165), age—a period of time whether long or short.  Translated "world" (Hebrews 1:2; Matthew 12:32; Matthew 13:39); "age" (Ephes. 2:7; Col. 1:26); "course" (Ephes. 2:2); and other ways.  Here it means Christ was the agent in planning the ages and making God's plan for man. In this sense His name shall be called, the everlasting Father (Isaiah 9:6).  He not only planned the ages, but all creations (Col. 1:15-18; John 1:3; Ephes. 3:9).

Hebrews 1:3

[brightness] Greek: apaugasma (GSN-541), reflection.

[glory] Greek: doxa (GSN-1391), translated "glory" 145 times (Hebrews 1:3; Hebrews 2:7,9,10; Hebrews 3:3; Hebrews 9:5; Hebrews 13:21); "glorious" (Romans 8:21; 2 Cor. 4:4; Phil. 3:21; Col. 1:11); "praise" (John 9:24; John 12:43; 1 Peter 4:11); "honor" (John 5:41,44; John 8:54; 2 Cor. 6:8; Rev. 19:7); "worship" (Luke 14:10); and "dignity" (2 Peter 2:10; Jude 1:8).

[express image] Greek: character (GSN-5481), exact expression, or impression as when metal is pressed into a die, or as a seal upon wax.

[person] Greek: hupostasis (GSN-5287), person (Hebrews 1:3); substance (Hebrews 11:1); confidence (2 Cor. 11:17; Hebrews 3:14); and confident (2 Cor. 9:4).  Here it refers to essential substance or that which constitutes deity in body, soul, and spirit.

[word of his power] By His word of power all things are upheld and sustained eternally.

[by himself purged our sins] By His atonement sins are purged, not by water baptism, the Lord's Supper, or any other ritual or form of religion (Matthew 26:28; Romans 3:24-25; Romans 5:1-11; Col. 1:14:22; Hebrews 9:22; 1 John 1:7-9; 1 Peter 1:18-23; 1 Peter 2:24; Rev. 1:5; Rev. 5:8-10).

[sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high] Matthew 26:64; Mark 16:19; Acts 2:33-34; Acts 7:56; Romans 8:34; Ephes. 1:20; Col. 3:1; Hebrews 1:3,13; Hebrews 8:1; Hebrews 12:2; 1 Peter 2:22.

Hebrews 1:4

[better]                                                              Christ Is Better

Greek: kreitton (GSN-2909), stronger, mightier, greater, more excellent. Translated better 13 times in Hebrews, the book of better things.

Christ is better than:

1. The prophets (Hebrews 1:1-3)

2. Angels (Hebrews 1:4-2:18)

3. Moses (Hebrews 3:1-18)

4. Joshua (Hebrews 4:1-13)

5. The High Priest (Hebrews 4:14-6:12)

6. Melchizedek (Hebrews 7:1-10)

7. Abraham (Hebrews 6:13-7:10)

8. Aaron and other earthly priests (Hebrews 7:11-8:6)

9. The old covenant sacrifices (Hebrews 8:7-10:39)

10. The old covenant faith-worthies (Hebrews 11:1-12:2)

11. Parents and others (Hebrews 12:3-13:25)

[angels] The Jews had the highest opinion of angels and even associated them with God.  On their own ground Paul proves to them that Jesus is to be worshiped by angels (Hebrews 1:6).

Christ Better than Angels

1. Obtained a more excellent name (Hebrews 1:4)

2. Only begotten Son of God (Hebrews 1:5)

3. Worshiped by angels (Hebrews 1:6)

4. Creator of angels (Hebrews 1:7; Col. 1:15-18)

5. A member of the Godhead (Hebrews 1:8; John 1:1)

6. An eternal Being, not a creature (Hebrews 1:8)

7. An eternal king (Hebrews 1:8)

8. God's only Anointed One (Hebrews 1:9)

9. Creator of material worlds (Hebrews 1:10)

10. Renewer of all creations (Hebrews 1:11-12)

11. Only exalted One (Hebrews 1:13)

12. Director of angels (Hebrews 1:14)

13. Rejecting His word entails greater punishment than rejecting that of angels (Hebrews 2:1-3)

14. Greater confirmation of Word (Hebrews 2:3-4)

15. Greater conqueror than angels (Hebrews 2:5, 8)

16. Greater authority than angels (Hebrews 2:6-7)

17. Greater humiliation than angels (Hebrews 2:9)

18. Greater glory and honor (Hebrews 2:9)

19. Greater love than angels (Hebrews 2:9)

20. All things created for Him (Hebrews 2:10)

21. Creator or all things (Hebrews 1:10)

22. Redeemer of man (Hebrews 2:10)

23. Perfected through sufferings (Hebrews 1:10)

24. Sanctifier of man (Hebrews 1:11)

25. Became a brother to man (Hebrews 1:11-13)

26. Preacher of God's name to man (Hebrews 1:12)

27. Singer in midst of the church (Hebrews 1:12)

28. Perfect trust in God (Hebrews 1:13)

29. Adopts children to God (Hebrews 1:13)

30. Partook of human nature (Hebrews 1:14-18)

31. Died to destroy death (Hebrews 1:14)

32. Conquered the devil (Hebrews 1:14; 1 John 3:8)

33. Delivered people from hell (Hebrews 1:15; Ephes. 4:8-10; Matthew 12:40; Psalm 16:10)

[by inheritance obtained a more excellent name] Three ways Jesus obtained His great name:

1. By birth (Matthew 1:21)

2. By inheritance (Hebrews 1:4)

3. By achievements (Phil. 2:5-11)

[sceptre] A rod or staff and a symbol of power and government (Psalm 2:9; Rev. 2:27).

Hebrews 1:9

[Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity] This is characteristic of a just ruler.

[God, even thy God, hath anointed thee] This is spoken of the Son by the prophet.  How could the Son have a God who would anoint Him if He Himself were the only GodThis clearly proves two separate Persons, both called God (Hebrews 1:8-9). God the Father, which anointed and bestowed His own name upon His Only Begotten Son calling Him both, “Thou art my Son and O God”

Hebrews 1:5  For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

Hebrews 1:8  But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

Threefold Office of Christ

No man was ever anointed as prophet, priest, and king before Christ was. Some were anointed kings, some prophets, and some priests, but in Christ all these offices are combined. He is Prophet to all mankind (Hebrews 1:1-2), High Priest to the whole race (Hebrews 3:1; Hebrews 4:14-16; Hebrews 5:6; Hebrews 6:20; Hebrews 7:11-17), and King of all nations (Daniel 7:13-14; Isaiah 9:6-7; Zech. 14:9; Luke 1:32-33; Matthew 25:31-46; Rev. 11:15; Rev. 22:4-5).

Hebrews 1:10

[Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid ...] This 5th Old Testament prophecy in Hebrews (Hebrews 1:10-12; Psalm 102:25-27).   Hebrews 1:13.  This will be fulfilled at the end of the Millennium when the heavens and earth will be renovated and made renewed (Hebrews 1:10-12; Hebrews 12:25-28; Romans 8:21-25; 2 Peter 3:10-13).

[foundation of the earth] See  Matthew 13:35.

[works of thine hands] With His hands “God” actually formed the earth (Psalm 8:3,6; Psalm 90:2; Psalm 95:5); the heavens (Psalm 8:3; Psalm 19:1; Psalm 102:25); the planets (Psalm 8:3; Isaiah 40:26; Isaiah 45:12; Isaiah 48:13; Hebrews 1:10); the living creatures (Genesis 1:10-27; Genesis 2:7-25; Job 26:13; Romans 9:20; 1 Tim. 2:13); and all things (Proverbs 26:10).

Hebrews 1:11

[perish] Greek: apollumi (GSN-622), mar or ruin, never annihilation, but instead is of no value

Hebrews 1:12

[changed] Greek: allasso (GSN-236), to make other than it is; to alter; change or even do away with.

Angelic Apostles

Greek: apostello (GSN-649), to send forth as a messenger with a commission, the sender remaining behind.  An apostle is one thus sent.  Here angels are sent like apostles to minister to (meet their needs as the Heavenly Father directs) and for the heirs of salvation.  It is used of the apostles in Matthew 10:5, 16; Mark 3:14; Mark 6:7.  The word is used 133 times and generally for special missions.

[heirs] Greek: kleronomeo (GSN-2816), heirs (Hebrews 1:14; Galatians 4:30); obtain by inheritance (Hebrews 1:4); and to inherit (Matthew 5:5; Matthew 19:29; Matthew 25:34; Mark 10:17; Luke 10:17-25; Luke 18:18; 1 Cor. 6:9-10; 1 Cor. 15:50; Galatians 5:21; Hebrews 6:12; Hebrews 12:17; 1 Peter 3:9; Rev. 21:7).  Salvation, like eternal life, is not an unforfeitable possession until we inherit it fully in the next life (Romans 13:11; 1 Thes. 5:9; Hebrews 9:28; 1 Peter 1:5, 9, 13).

…Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the Life (John 14:6), for as long as the person remains under the blood of Jesus Christ and has Jesus Christ in their heart, that person has “eternal life (because Jesus Christ is ETERNAL). No one, can have eternal life withoutJesus Christ.  Should that person (commit any) sin, Jesus Christ will not partake of (any) sin, that person no longer has eternal Life. Jesus Christ will NOT remain within a SOUL that sins.

Ezekiel 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

Ezekiel 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

Romans 6:23  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Man, (the first Adam) was a created being!

Genesis 1:26-27  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. [27] So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Genesis 5:3-4  And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth: [4] And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:

Christ was with The Heavenly Father before the world was!

John 17:5  And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

Man, born of a woman!

Man, born of a woman inherits the likeness of man, such as Adam or Eve (male or female) while in the mothers womb. This is termed being born in the flesh. Whereas, our flesh takes on the likeness of our biological parents, grandparents and we (our body, soul and spirit) by nature inherits some of their personalities (characteristics), sometimes and very often, their faults and failures, as well as their likes and dislikes, especially as we grow older.

We can be born “again”

(in the Spirit)

However, upon Salvation (repenting of our sins and confessing Jesus Christ as our LORD and Saviour, (being baptized in Water Matthew 28:19 and Acts 2:38) we can be born “again” in the Spirit (John 3:1-8).

Ye must be born again!

John 3:1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: [2] The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. [3]  Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

{{{ Therefore we see Immanuel or Emmanuel “with Christ” confirmed, in verse 2 above}}}

How can we be born again?

John 3:4  Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

Jesus answered!

John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. [6] That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. [7] Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

How, can we be born of water and of Spirit?

John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. [9] Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?

John 3:10-22  Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? [11] Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.

[12] If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? [13] And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. [14] And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: [15] That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

[16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

[17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. [18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

[19] And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. [20] For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. [21] But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Therefore, being born again “is” BELIEVING “in” The ONLY

BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD!

1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. [5] And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. [6] Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

(Please pay special attention to the word) “abideth” in Him, (above) which means: meno, Greek 3306, Strong’s)

meno, men'-o; a primary verb; to stay (in a given place, state, relation or expectancy) : abide, continue, dwell, endure, be present, remain, stand, tarry (for), × thine own.

Therefore, if a person chooses to sin (transgress against God, commit evil, commit abominations against God), that person has then chosen to fall away from Jesus Christ. That person cannot remain in Jesus Christ and still continue to sin (transgress) at the same time. Jesus Christ does not and cannot remain in that person. That person, “no longer” has Jesus Christ in their soul (heart). Jesus Christ will “NOT” be in a partnership or approve of sin, to sin or with sin, because Christ came to fulfill the Law, not to defile or destroy the Law of the Prophets which would be a conflict of His interest (purpose, intent).

[7] Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. [9] Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

If you sin, it is by your own choice

The devil did “NOT” make you do it!

Therefore, ye must be born again!

How do we become born again?

Repent!

#2 = fact!

Ezekiel 18:30  Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord God. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.

Matthew 3:2  And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Matthew 4:17  From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Mark 1:15  And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Mark 6:12  And they went out, and preached that men should repent.

Luke 13:3  I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Luke 13:5  I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Luke 16:30  And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

Luke 17:3-4  Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. [4] And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.

Acts 2:38  Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 3:19  Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

Acts 8:22  Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.

Rev. 2:5  Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

Confession of Christ must be done openly (publicly) before all!

Matthew 10:32  Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

Luke 12:8  Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:

Repentance and the Confession of Jesus Christ openly (publicly) before men is very important

to being “born again” !

Romans 10:9-13  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. [10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. [11] For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. [12] For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. [13] For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Matthew 26:26-28  And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. [27] And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; [28] For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

aphesis, Greek 859, Strong’s

aphesis, af'-es-is; from Greek 863 (aphiemi); freedom; (figurative) pardon :- deliverance, forgiveness, liberty, remission.

1 Cor. 11:23-28  For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: [24] And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. [25] After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. [26] For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. [27] Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. [28] But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. [29] For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. [30] For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. [31] For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. [32] But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world. [33] Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another.

Water Baptism!

The “act and confession” of being born again unto newness of life!

A. Water baptism is an outward sign of an inward cleansing and

B. a public confession showing openly that you have or are, repentant of your sins (transgressions)

C. and by being baptized (submerged) in water, you are showing by your actions and speech, your confession of your faith in The Lord Jesus Christ!

D. You are showing your confession and recognition of Christ’s death, burial and resurrection.

Explanation and purpose of water baptism!

Having made an open statement (before everyone) publicly, of your repenting of your sins and Confessing Jesus Christ The Son of God as your Lord and Saviour. You then being lowered into the water, being completely submerged (shows ”before all” the death of the old man (creature) in you) and while completely under the water for only a few seconds, it represents the burial of your old nature (man, creature) and also recognition of Christ’s Death and Burial.

You being brought up out of the water represents’ your being born again unto newness of life (your soul has been born again) because your “old” self, nature, man, sins, person, creature no longer exist. They have been placed in the sea of forgetfulness by the Heavenly Father (Micah 7:19).

Micah 7:19  He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

The Heavenly Father does not see them again, unless the person falls away from God. If that person does fall away from God, all sins (including past sins), will be brought up before God at the Great White Throne Judgment and that person will be reminded of them when they stand before Him (Almighty God), including those sins that God had placed in the Sea of Forgetfulness, those forgotten sins, will be recovered for proper viewing as well. As the old saying is, out of sight, out of mind, then don’t choose to sin!

Otherwise, when a person “remains” clean (without sin by the Grace of God) and remains covered by The Blood of Jesus Christ keeping Jesus Christ faithfully in their heart so when The Heavenly Father looks at them, all that He (The Heavenly Father) sees is, that their soul is Covered by The Precious Blood that His Only Begotten Son shed on the Cross for their sins.

Also, as your being brought up out of the water, it represents’ your being raised from the dead, having been born again and now “your soul and Spirit” (this does not pertain the body) has have put on eternal life in Jesus Christ (which is conditional and it is for as long as you have Jesus Christ in your heart) and your being raised out of water is also in the memory of Jesus Christ being raised from the dead unto newness of Life, whereas Christ ascended unto the Heavenly Father and is at the Heavenly Father’s right side in Heaven.

Jesus Christ is NOT DEAD, He is very much ALIVE!

Acts 1:9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. [10] And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; [11] Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Mark 16:19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. [20] And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

While Christ was yet on earth and in the flesh!

Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. [19] Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: [20] Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

After Christ was taken up unto Heaven

Stephen witnessed Christ Standing at the Heavenly Father’s right side in Heaven. Acts 7:55  But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God.

We (our faith) needs’ to be renewed continually!

2 Cor. 4:16  For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

Ephes. 4:23  And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

Col. 3:10  And have put on the new ma
