GOD’S ADVERSARIES
Before the individual,
true, born again, Child of God can have the power of God to tread on serpents
and scorpions, the Child of God must be free of all vices that the enemy might use
against the individual to overpower him. In other words, the True Child of God
must be absolutely free of all sins, transgressions against God, Jesus
Christ and anyone else and not permit themselve any type of aggression, bad mental
attitude, such as anger, resentment or oppression in their heart. They must
love their enemy as Jesus Christ taught (Matthew 5:44; Luke 6:22).
[But I say unto you, Love your
enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and
pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you]
Four commands in
Matthew 5:44:
1. Love your enemies.
2. Bless them that
curse you.
3. Do good to those
that hate you.
4. Pray for your
persecutors.
All, must be
put under the Blood of Jesus Christ (repented
of, sought forgiveness for) and kept there, for that individual to have and
maintain complete victory over Satan!
Therefore, it is not a
sin to be tempted (Jesus Christ was temped of the devil (Matthew
4:11; Mark 1:13; Luke 4:2; 1st Corinth. 10:9; 1st
Corinth. 10:13; Galatians 6:1; Acts 5:29; Hebrews 4:15) because He
(Jesus Christ) did NOT accept the temptation) however, it
becomes sin “IF” you accept the temptation.
The Awesome and mighty POWER of God!
[Jesus Christ the Son of God said]
Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
(Matthew 17:20; Matthew 21:22; Mark 9:23; Mark 11:22-24; Mark 16:15-20; John 14:12).
[power] Greek:
exousia (GSN-1849), delegated authority—the right to use power as received and
when needed to destroy Satan's works.
[to tread on] "To tread on"
means to have
absolute mastery over, as is clear in Psalm 91:13; Psalm 108:13; Isaiah 10:6;
Isaiah 63:6; Daniel 7:23; Micah 5:5; Rev. 11:2.
Christians are to have power over all power of the devil, "and
nothing shall by any means hurt" them.
By a comparison with Matthew 10:16-22 and the actual history of the apostles and others, we know that this
exemption from being hurt does not imply freedom from all physical or
material injury, for many died for serving Jesus Christ. Many have also been
tortured and killed in wars, but have kept their faith in God like when Shadrach,
Meshech and Abednego (the three Hebrew Children of Daniel 3:12-4:1) also, God
will make a way of escape as in 1st Corinthians 10:13.
The "serpents
and scorpions" and "all the power of the enemy" refer to demon
powers primarily, although immunity from any harm of wild beasts and from
poisons is also promised (Psalm 91; Mark 16:17-18; Acts 28:5). The whole passage is speaking of devils,
Satan, serpents, scorpions, power of the enemy, and spirits.
Exodus 23:22 But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries.

tsaw-rar'; a primitive root; to cramp, literal or figurative,
transitive or intransitive (as follows) :- adversary, (be in) afflict

pangs, shut up, be in a strait (trouble), vex.
Exodus
23:22
[if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak] Like all promises in Scripture, these are conditional (Exodus 23:21, 22, 24, 25, 32-33).
Numbers 22:22 And God's anger was kindled because he went: and the angel of the Lord stood in the way for an adversary against him. Now he was riding upon his ass, and his two servants were with him.
1 Samuel 1:6 And her adversary also provoked her sore, for to make her fret, because the Lord had shut up her womb.
1 Samuel 29:4 And the princes of the Philistines were wroth with him; and the princes of the Philistines said unto him, Make this fellow return, that he may go again to his place which thou hast appointed him, and let him not go down with us to battle, lest in the battle he be an adversary to us: for wherewith should he reconcile himself unto his master? should it not be with the heads of these men?
1 Kings 5:4 But now the Lord my God hath given me rest on every side, so that there is neither adversary nor evil occurrent.

1 Kings 11:23 And God stirred him up another adversary, Rezon the son of Eliadah, which fled from his lord Hadadezer king of Zobah:
1 Kings 11:25 And he was an adversary to Israel all the days of Solomon, beside the mischief that Hadad did: and he abhorred Israel, and reigned over Syria.
Esther 7:6 And Esther said, The adversary and enemy is this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen.
Job 31:35 Oh that one would hear me! behold, my desire is, that the Almighty would answer me, and that mine adversary had written a book.
Psalm 74:10 O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever?

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
WHO ARE GOD’S ADVERSARIES?
Genesis 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse
him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
1 Cor. 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such
as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be
tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also
make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
[There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common
to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that
ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye
may be able to bear it] This verse
gives assurance of the eternal keeping of God in all temptations and His help
in every one of them, providing we obey the warnings of 1 Cor. 10:1-12.
God gave every man the power of Choice to choose!
No man can be kept
from a fall if he persistently refuses to meet conditions. Our standing (or righteous standing) depends
upon our faith and union with God and steadfastness in prayer. The greatest saint can stand only as long
as he depends upon God and continues in obedience to the gospel (Genesis
2:17; Genesis 3:1-19; Deut. 8:11-18; Proverbs 1:10-17; Proverbs 2:10-16;
Proverbs 4:14-15; Proverbs 5:6-21; Proverbs 6:27-28; Proverbs 7:7-23; Proverbs
9:15-17; Proverbs 12:26; Proverbs 14:27; Proverbs 16:29; Proverbs 19:27;

Romans 8:12-13; Romans 12:21; Romans 14:13-21; 1 Cor. 7:5; 1 Cor. 8:9-13; 1
Cor. 10:1-12; 2 Cor. 2:11; 2 Cor. 11:3; Galatians 5:16-26; Ephes. 4:27; Ephes.
6:10-18; 1 Tim. 5:15; 1 Tim. 6:9-17; Hebrews 3:6,12-14; Hebrews 6:4-11; Hebrews
10:26-38; James 1:2-16; James 4:7; 2 Peter 2:9,20-22; 2 Peter 3:17; 1 John
2:15-17).
Any man who rejects
these conditions of living right, unto God, will someday see that he cannot
escape death and eternal punishment.
Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die,
but after this the judgment:
[appointed unto
men once to die]
Man's Inescapable Appointment!
Greek: apokeimai
(GSN-606), be laid up in store; be in reserve.
Translated appoint (Hebrews 9:27); be laid up (Luke 19:20; Col. 1:5; 2
Tim. 4:8). It is appointed or laid up by
divine decree: "Dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return"
(Genesis 3:19). This law of death will
hold firm for all men until the time of the rapture when the living who are to
be translated will not see death (1 Cor. 15:51-58; 1 Thes. 4:13-16; Phil.
3:21).
All who live at the
end of the Millennium and who do not rebel against God will be permitted
to live on the new earth forever without dying again. Death will be destroyed and all things will
be restored as they were before Adam sinned (Rev. 20:7-10; Rev. 21:1-22; 1 Cor.
15:24-28).
[after this the
judgment]
Death Ends Probation!
After death is the
judgment, not a second chance to live on earth and be saved. Death ends all probation for the one who
dies. If he is righteous at death, his
soul and spirit go to heaven awaiting the resurrection of the body (2 Cor. 5:8;
Phil. 1:21-24; Hebrews 12:23; Rev. 6:9-11).
If he is wicked at death his soul and spirit go to hell to await the
resurrection of his body (Luke 16:19-31; Isaiah 14:9; Rev. 20:11-15). There is no such thing as purgatory or a
second chance to be on probation in the Millennium or any other time. Neither is there a reincarnation or a
transmigration from body to body.
Will you be caught up to meet the Lord in the air?

“FOR” (to receive) His Saints unto
Himself!
1 Thes. 4:14-18 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose
again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. [15] For
this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and
remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
[16] For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the
voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall
rise first: [17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be
caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:
and so shall we ever be with the Lord. [18] Wherefore comfort one another
with these words.
1 Thes. 5:1-3 But of the times
and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. [2] For
yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the
night. [3] For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden
destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they
shall not escape.

“FOR” His Saints
Matthew 24:36-41 But of that day
and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father
only. [37] But as the days of Noe were, so
shall also the coming of the Son of man be. [38] For as in the days that were before the flood they were
eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe
entered into the ark, [39] And knew not until
the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son
of man be.
Notice, Notice, Notice!
This coming or return of Jesus Christ
Was NOT a public appearance for all to see
but was “only” for those
Who were ready to be caught up and meet Him in the air when He
came!
[40] Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. [41]
Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
Watch therefore!
Matthew 24:42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth
come. [43] But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what
watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered
his house to be broken up. [44] Therefore be ye
also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. [45]
Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord
hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
[46] Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he
cometh shall find so doing. [47] Verily I say
unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
Jesus Christ’s
Public Appearance is for all
to see His Return
Rev. 1:1-3 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God
gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to
pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: [2] Who
bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of
all things that he saw. [3] Blessed is he that readeth, and they that
hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written
therein: for the time is at hand.
Rev. 1:4-10 John to the seven churches which are in Asia:
Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to
come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; [5] And from
Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead,
and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us
from our sins in his own blood, [6] And hath made us kings and priests unto God
and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. [7]
Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which
pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so,
Amen. [8] I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord,
which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. [9] I John, who
also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and
patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word
of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. [10] I was in the Spirit on the
Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
a door was opened in heaven!
(Saints came up)
Rev. 4:1-2 After this I looked, and, behold, a door
was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were
of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will
shew thee things which must be hereafter. [2] And immediately I was in the
spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the
throne.
Saints follow Him “from” Heaven on white horses!
Rev. 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white
horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in
righteousness he doth judge and make war. [12] His eyes were as a flame of
fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man
knew, but he himself. [13] And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in
blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
[14] And the
armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine
linen, white and clean. [15] And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that
with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron:
and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. [16]
And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING
OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
Ten Proofs the Rapture
Takes Place in Revelation 4:1
(We use the word “rapture” in exchange for the term “caught up” in this
lesson,
whereby both mean the same)
Greek: meta
(GSN-3326) tauta (GSN-5023), after these things (notice, John 5:1). This Greek phrase is used at the beginning
and at end of this verse thus: "After these things (after writing the
things concerning the churches of Rev. 2-3), I looked ... a door was opened in
heaven: and the first voice ... said, Come up hither, and I will show thee
things which must be after these things," that is, after the
churches (Rev. 4:1).
This confirms and
settles the question as to the time of the fulfillment of all the events of
Rev. 4:22. They must be after these
things of the churches, or after the rapture of the church. The church is no longer on earth when
the events of Rev. 4-22 take place.
1. Christ said the things of Rev. 4-22 "must
be hereafter," that is, after the churches, as proved above and also in
Rev. 1:19. If this is true, then the
church is raptured before these things of Rev. 4-22, and after the
things of the churches of Rev. 2-3.
If the things which
are (Rev. 2-3) concern the church, then the "things which
must be" after "the things which are" must concern events
after the churches. The church must be here during the time of
the fulfillment of the things concerning the churches, and it must not
be here during the fulfillment of the things after the churches.
The church then is
raptured in Rev. 4:1 between "the things which are" (Rev. 2-3) and
"the things which must be hereafter," that is, after the churches
(Rev. 4-22).
2. The word "church" is found 19 times
in Rev. 1-3 but not once in the third division of the book which
contains "the things which must be" after the churches (Rev.
4:1-22:5). The church is found again
in the conclusion of the book (Rev. 22:6-21), but only after "the things
which must be" are fully revealed.
If the church were on earth during the fulfillment of Rev. 4-22
it certainly would be mentioned.
3. The enthroned elders are representative of
the raptured saints and they are always seen in heaven after Rev. 4:1. See, Rev. 4:4.
4. The 70th week of Daniel will be the last
seven years of this age, during which time all of Rev. 4-19; Matthew 24-25 will
be fulfilled. This week concerns Israel,
not the church. Therefore, the
church must be raptured before this week.
5. There is no place for the rapture of the
church and the Old Testament saints other than in Rev. 4:1. The man-child and the great
tribulation saints are the only ones to be saved and raptured during
Daniel's 70th week, and these are distinct groups from the church
and the Old Testament saints, as proved in notes on Rev. 4:4. Therefore, the church is either caught up
in Rev. 4:1—after the churches of Rev. 2-3 and before the events
coming after the churches of Rev. 4-22—or it is never mentioned in
Revelation as to its rapture. If
it were to be caught up anytime during this week, it surely would
have been mentioned. The church could not be the man-child or
the tribulation saints, as proved in Rev. 7; Rev. 12; Rev. 14.
6. In Luke 21:34-36 we have the promise of
Jesus that the saved will be accounted worthy to escape all these things,
and to stand before the Son of Man. The things they will escape are those of
Matthew 24:4-26; Luke 21:4-19 and Rev. 6-19.
7. In 1 Thes. 5:1-11 we have another definite
promise assuring us that saints will escape the wrath of God (of Rev.
6-19). God has not appointed us to this
wrath, but to obtain salvation through Jesus Christ so we can live with Christ
(1 Thes. 5:9-11). How could saints
comfort one another (as stated in this scripture and in 1 Thes. 4:16-17; Titus
2:13) if the only hope they had was the coming wrath of God in the future tribulation?
8. In 2 Thes. 2:6-8 it is definitely shown that
the rapture takes place before the revelation of the Antichrist and before the
70th week of Daniel. The events of Rev.
4-19 will take place during this week, so the rapture must take place in
Rev. 4:1.
9. There is a marked change in God's attitude
toward humanity in general, from that of mercy (Rev. 1-3) to that of judgment
(Rev. 4-19). The seals, trumpets, and vials all picture judgment throughout
Daniel's 70th week. If the church
does not go through any of these things, as proved already, then the
rapture must take place in Rev. 4:1.
10. An individual or a body of individuals can be
identified by peculiarities and characteristics. If the church is to be on earth and is
the subject of Rev. 4-19, then its earmarks should be seen. But such are not to be found. On the other hand, earmarks of Israel are
seen throughout the book after Rev. 4:1. The earmarks of the church are seen up
to this point only. This proves that
two different institutions are dealt with in different parts of the book: first, the church until its
rapture in Rev. 4:1; second, Israel after the rapture of the
church to the second coming of Christ (Rev. 4-19).
Twenty Earmarks of Israel after Rev. 4:1:
(1) In Matthew, the Hebrew Gospel, there are 92
references to the Old Testament; in Hebrews there are 102 references; but in
Revelation there 285 references. This also, proves the Jewish character
of the book after Rev. 4:1.
(2) The word "Lamb" is used 27 times in
Rev. 4-22 and not once in the church section of Rev. 1-3. It is never used in the Pauline epistles to
the churches. It is used only 4 other
times in the New Testament and always in connection with Israel (John 1:29,36;
Acts 8:32; 1 Peter 1:19).
(3) The terms "the Lion of Judah"
and "the Root of David" are Jewish (Rev. 5:5).
(4) The 144,000 of Rev. 7:1-8; Rev. 14:1-5 are
Jewish. They will be saved during the
events after the rapture.
(5) The events of the seals, trumpets, and vials
are a partial repetition of the plagues upon Egypt and are for the same
purpose—that of judging Gentiles for their mistreatment of Israel. They fulfill many Old Testament prophecies of
punishments upon Gentiles because of their oppressions of Israel (Isaiah
24:21; Isaiah 26:20-21; Isaiah 29:6-8;
Jeremiah 30:6-9; Ezekiel 38-39; Daniel 12:1; etc.). Not
one such prediction is ever made concerning the church.
(6) The tribulation of Rev. 6-19 concerns Israel
(Jeremiah 30:6-9; Daniel 12:1; Matthew 24:15-22).
(7) Daniel's 70th week concerns Israel and
Jerusalem only (Daniel 9:24,27).
(8) The church age comes between the 69th
and 70th weeks of Daniel, proving that Israel is dealt with during the 70th
week. See Daniel 9:24-27.
(9) The only saved Gentiles in Rev. 4-19 are
the tribulation saints and they are not the church (Rev. 6:9-11; Rev.
7:9-17; Rev. 15:2-4; Rev. 20:4-6). This
confirms the Jewish aspect of Rev. 4-19.
(10) The ministry of the angels around the altar
(Rev. 8:2-5) is familiar to Israel only.
(11) The mystery of God promised by the prophets
is Jewish (Rev. 10:7).
(12) The temple, altar, temple worship, court of
the temple, holy city, olive trees, ark of the covenant, etc. of Rev. 11
are all Jewish, not Christian.
(13) The kingdoms of this world becoming Christ's
is the fulfillment of Jewish prophets (Rev. 11:15; Isaiah 9:6-7; Daniel
7:13-14; Zech. 14:1-21; Luke 1:32-33).
(14) The woman and man-child are Jewish, as proved
in Rev. 12.
(15) A dragon with 7 heads and 10 horns, showing
rulership of the nations that have persecuted Israel in the times
of the Gentiles, also proves a Jewish connection (Rev. 12). It could not be a fit symbol in connection
with the church.
(16) Michael (Rev. 12:7) always stands for Israel
(Daniel 10:13-21; Daniel 12:1).
(17) The remnant (Rev. 12:17) is Jewish (Isaiah
1:9).
(18) Literal Babylon (Rev. 16:17-21; Rev. 18:1-24)
proves a Jewish connection, as seen in Isaiah 13-14; Jeremiah 50-51. The true church has no relationship
with Babylon (Baal, Nimrod).
(19) Armageddon and the second coming (Rev.
16:13-16; Rev. 19:11-21) prove a Jewish connection. Neither subject is ever used of the church.
(20) The Millennium and the New Earth were
predicted in connection with Israel hundreds
of times (Rev. 20-22; Isaiah 2; Isaiah 65; Isaiah 66; etc), but not once
with the church.

Sixty-eight Post-Rapture Events
These events are
from Revelation only. Others could be added from the prophets, as well as
Matthew 24 and Luke 21, etc., but these are enough to serve as an outline of
post-rapture events:
1. The 1st seal:
rise of Antichrist (Rev. 6:1)
2. The 2nd seal:
war (Rev. 6:3-4)
3. The 3rd seal:
famine (Rev. 6:5-6)
4. The 4th seal:
death and hell (Rev. 6:7-8)
5. The 5th seal:

Zech. 14:4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the
mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives

Mark 11:26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is
in heaven forgive your trespasses.
James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and
doeth it not, to him it is sin.
With this last
Scripture, a individual, must legitimately qualify that which is “good” (Holy,
righteous before or unto God, clean, upright and glorifying unto Almighty God!
Repent now!
