I AM THE LORD THAT HEALETH THEE!

Malachi 3:8-12  Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. [9] Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. [10] Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. [11] And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts. [12] And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the Lord of hosts.

And!

Exodus 15:26  And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.

[If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments and keep all his statues]

Four Conditions of Healing

1.   Diligently hear God's voice—acknowledge Him as God; live free from idolatry.

2.   Live righteous lives in His sight.

3.   Give ear to His commandments—not just the ten, but all of them.

4.   Keep all His statutes—regulations for civil and religious life.

Seven Commands to Hear

1.   Give ear to My commandments (Exodus 15:26).

2.   Bow down your ear and hear (2 Kings 19:16).

3.   Give ear to My law (Psalm 78:1).

4.   Incline your ear to wisdom (Proverbs 2:2).

5.   Incline your ear to My sayings (Proverbs 4:20).

6.   Bow down your ear to My understanding (Proverbs 5:1).

7.   He that hath an ear, let him hear (Matthew 13:9; see also Matthew 13:15, 16, 43; Rev. 2:7, 11, 17, 29; Rev. 3:6, 13, 22; Rev. 13:9).

No one can expect to be free from sickness unless he meets the conditions; but every one can expect such blessings by meeting them (Exodus 20:6; Exodus 23:22-25; Psalm 91).

[I will put none of these diseases upon thee] God is responsible for disease only in the sense of making the law of sowing and reaping (Galatians 6:7-8); making penalties for sin (Exodus 15:26; Exodus 23:22-25; Leviticus 26; Deut. 28); and permitting agencies with the power to execute the curse on man to have their way (Job 1:6-22; Job 2:1-13; Job 42:10; Psalm 91; Luke 13:16; John 10:10; Acts 10:38; Hebrews 2:14-15; Rev. 9:1-12).  If there had been no sin there would be no curse.  When Christ reigns on earth there will be no sickness (Isaiah 33:24; Isaiah 35:5-6).  When God's will is done on earth as in heaven, there will be no curse (Rev. 21:1-22:6).

[for I am the LORD] The reason given for no sickness on the obedient was, God is the healer of His people.  Here God is revealed as Jehovah-Rapha, Jehovah the Healer, or Jehovah your Physician.

[that healeth thee] To prove not only that He could heal, but was willing to (thus fulfilling His promises and covenants), He healed them all by His word and there was not a feeble person in all their tribes (Psalm 105:37; Psalm 107:20).

Another Promise of God!

God promised to make everyone immune from all diseases in the future, upon meeting conditions (Exodus 23:22-25; Psalm 91; Isaiah 58).  Sicknesses and diseases were and still are special curses on human beings only when they won't obey or when they fail to understand and appropriate God's provision by faith (Exodus 23:22-25; Leviticus 26; Deut. 28; Job 33:14-33; Psalm 91; Psalm 103:3; Isaiah 58; Matthew 8:17; John 10:10; 2 Cor. 11:30;  James 5:14-16, notes; 1 Peter 2:24).

The everlasting Father is “The” “I AM”

With His Stripes!

[The Stripes of Jesus Christ]

Isaiah 53:5  But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

[wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities]

Two Bodily References in Making Atonement

1. Wound. Hebrew: chalal (HSN-2491), to wound; bore; slay; pierce (Isaiah 53:5; Isaiah 51:9; Psalm 109:22). This refers to piercing the hands, feet, and side.

2. Bruise. Hebrew: daka (HSN-1792), to crumble; beat to pieces; break; bruise; crush; destroy; smite (Isaiah 53:5, 10; Isaiah 3:15; Job 19:2; Psalm 72:4; Psalm 94:5). This refers to the stripes by scourging, cuts by thorns, and other physical sufferings, and proves this was part of the work of atonement by which blood was shed. It was by this particular phase of punishment that physical healing was provided for all alike (Isaiah 53:5; 1 Peter 2:24).

[chastisement]

Our Correction

Hebrew: muwcar (HSN-4148), correction. He did not sin, so any needed correction was ours. We had sinned and were estranged from God, so God sent Him to be chastised in our place in order that we might become reconciled and have peace with our Maker again. What was necessary to reconcile God and man was placed upon Christ to make peace again between them (Isaiah 53:5).

[stripes]

Messiah's Stripes

Hebrew:  chabbuwrah (HSN-2250), a black and blue mark.  Translated "stripe" (Isaiah 53:5; Exodus 21:25); "bruises" (Isaiah 1:6); "hurt" (Genesis 4:23); "blueness" (Proverbs 20:30); "wounds" (Psalm 38:5); and "spots" (Jeremiah 13:23). Christ could have received as many as 468 stripes from scourging alone (note, Matthew 27:26).

[healed]

Messiah's Healing Power

Hebrew: rapha (HSN-7495), to mend; cure; heal; repair; make whole (Isaiah 53:5; Isaiah 6:10). It has no reference to spiritual healing whatsoever. There are at least 14 Hebrew and Greek words found in scores of passages which plainly teach physical soundness, healing, health, preservation, salvation, and deliverance. Sometimes one of these words is used in the same passage of both body and soul, thus proving that it is not limited to the spiritual part of man. See Thirty-seven Biblical Diseases and Infirmities and Biblical Plagues.

Thirteen Hebrew and Greek Words That Refer to Physical Healing:

1. The Hebrew: rapha (HSN-7495) is translated "cure" (Jeremiah 33:6); "make whole" (Job 5:18); "heal" (Isaiah 19:22; Isaiah 57:18-19; Numbers 12:13; Deut. 32:39; 2 Kings 20:5,8; Psalm 6:2; Jeremiah 17:14; Jeremiah 30:17; Hosea 6:1; Zech. 1:16); "healed" (Isaiah 6:10; Isaiah 53:4; Genesis 20:17; Exodus 21:19; Leviticus 13:18,37; Leviticus 14:3,49; Deut. 28:27,35; 1 Samuel 6:3; 1 Samuel 8:29; 1 Samuel 9:15; 2 Chron. 22:6; 2 Chron. 30:20; Psalm 30:2; Psalm 107:20; Jeremiah 17:14; Ezekiel 34:4; Hosea 7:1; Hosea 11:3); "healeth" (Isaiah 20:26; Exodus 15:26; Psalm 103:3; Psalm 147:3); "thoroughly healed" (Exodus 21:19); and "physician" (Genesis 50:2; 2 Chron. 16:12; Job 13:4; Jeremiah 8:22).

2. The Hebrew:  marpe (HSN-4832) is translated "healing" (Jeremiah 14:19; Malachi 4:2); "health" (Proverbs 4:22; Proverbs 12:18; Proverbs 13:17; Proverbs 16:24; Jeremiah 8:15); "cure" (Jeremiah 33:6); "remedy" (2 Chron. 26:16; Proverbs 6:15; Proverbs 29:1); "sound in health" (Proverbs 14:30); and "wholesome" (Proverbs 15:4).

The entire 91st Psalm teaches perfect healing and health physically. So, the salvation of Isaiah 53:16 includes the body as well as the soul.

4. The Hebrew: aruwkah (HSN-724) means restoration to sound health (Isaiah 58:8; Jeremiah 8:22; Jeremiah 30:17; Jeremiah 33:6).

5. The Hebrew: chabash (HSN-2280) means "healer" (Isaiah 3:7); and "to bind up" or "heal" (Isaiah 30:26; Isaiah 61:1; Job 5:18; Psalm 147:3; Ezekiel 34:16; Hosea 6:1).

6. The Hebrew: riphuth (HSN-7500) means "health" (Proverbs 3:8).

8. The Greek: iama (GSN-2386) means "healing" or "repairing" (2 Cor. 12:9, 28, 30).

9. The Greek: iaomai (GSN-2390) is translated "heal" (Matthew 13:15; Luke 4:18; Luke 5:17; Luke 9:2; John 4:47; John 12:40); "healed" (Matthew 8:8,13; Mark 5:29; Luke 6:17,19; Luke 7:7; Luke 8:2,47; Luke 17:15; Luke 22:51; John 5:13; Acts 3:11; Acts 28:8; Hebrews 12:13; James 5:16; 1 Peter 2:24); "healing" (Acts  10:38); "whole" (Matthew 15:28; Acts 9:24).

10. The Greek: iasis (GSN-2392) means "healing" and "cure" (Luke 13:32; Acts 4:22, 30; Acts 28:27).

11. The Greek: hugiaino (GSN-5198) means "sound health" (3 John 1:2).

12. The Greek:  hugies (GSN-5199) means "healthy," "sound," and "whole" (Matthew 12:13; Matthew 15:31; Mark 3:5; Mark 5:34; Luke 5:31).

13.The Greek:  diasozo (GSN-1295) means "to save" and "to heal thoroughly," "make perfectly whole," and is used of the body being healed (Matthew 14:36; Luke 7:3).

1 Peter 2:24  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

By Whose stripes ye “were” healed means; Jesus Christ suffered stripes upon His own body for our “healing” providing His Healing for us in The Atonement for our Sins (transgressions, afflictions and infirmities). By Jesus The Christ going to Calvary and arising again the third day unto newness of LIFE. Christ said “It is finished” and yet, we must repent of our sins and transgressions, asking Him for our healing and forgiveness, believe Him and confessing Him as THE Lord and Saviour of our lives and Souls!

Physical healing is part of the redemptive work of Christ.  By His stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5; Matthew 8:17).

Thirty-five Facts about Sickness and Healing

1. Health was natural and eternal before the fall (Genesis 1:26-31; Genesis 2:17).

2. Both death and sickness originated with sin and are now being propagated by Satan (Romans 5:12-21; Job 2:6-7; Luke 13:16; John 10:10; Acts 10:38; 1 John 3:8).

3. The first prophecy and promise of redemption included healing (Genesis 3:15; Isaiah 53:5; Matthew 8:16-17; 1 Peter 2:24).

4. The first recorded bodily affliction came through wrongdoing (Genesis 20:1-18).

5. The first recorded healing was by the prayer of a prophet (Genesis 20:7-17).

6. God made covenants with His people to heal them (Exodus 15:26; Exodus 23:23; Leviticus 26; Deut. 28; Matthew 8:17; 1 Peter 2:24; James 5:14).

7. God has always kept His covenants and has healed multitudes by spiritual means (Psalm 103:3; Psalm 105:37; Psalm 107:20; Acts 10:38).

8. Spiritual means to heal is all that God promised and commanded (Exodus 15:25; Psalm 91; Isaiah 58; Matthew 8:17; Matthew 13:15; James 5:14-16; 1 Peter 2:24).

9. Spiritual means were used in the wilderness by Israel (Exodus 15:26; Numbers 11:1-3; Numbers 12:13-16; Numbers 21:1-9; John 3:14).

10. Healing was promised on condition of obedience (Leviticus 26; Deut. 28; Exodus 15:26; Psalm 91; Isaiah 58; James 5:14-15).

11. God permits Satan to afflict sinners and even His own people when they go astray, to bring them to repentance (Job 33:12-30; Psalm 38; Psalm 103:3; Numbers 12:13-16; Numbers 21:9; 1 Cor. 5:1-5; 2 Cor. 2:6-11; Galatians 6:7-8).

12. God always healed when lessons were learned and men repented (Genesis 20:7,17; Numbers 11:2; Numbers 12:13-16; Numbers 21:1-9; Job 33:12-30; Job 42:1-12; Psalm 103:3; James 5:14-15).

13. Health as well as healing was promised when men met certain conditions (Exodus 15:26; Leviticus 26; Deut. 28; Psalm 91; Proverbs 3:1-8; Proverbs 12:18; Proverbs 13:3; Proverbs 15:4; Proverbs 18:8,21; Isaiah 58; James 5:14; 1 Peter 3:10-11; 3 John 1:2).

16. Jesus proved His Sonship by healing all men (Matthew 4:23-24; Matthew 11:3-6; Luke 4:16-21; Acts 10:38; 1 John 3:8).

17. Every disciple called and sent by Christ was given power to heal (Matthew 10:1-8; Mark 6:7-13; Luke 10:1-21; Acts 1:8).

18. Jesus commanded His disciples to become filled with power to heal before they went out (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-8).

19. All disciples throughout this age are commanded to observe the same commands Christ gave the first disciples (Matthew 28:20; Acts 1:4-8; Mark 16:15-20).

20. Early disciples did confirm the Word by healing (Mark 16:15-20; Acts 2:43; Acts 3:1-12; Acts 5:2-16; Acts 6:8; Acts 8:7-13; Acts 11:19-22; Acts 14:3,27; Acts  15:4,12; Acts 19:11-12; Acts 28:9; Romans 15:18-19,29; 1 Cor. 16:10; Phil. 1:7; 1 Thes. 2:13; Hebrews 2:3-4).

21. The Holy Spirit was sent into the world to carry on the healing ministry (Acts 1:1-8; Acts 2:33; 1 Cor. 12; Hebrews 2:3-4).

22. Jesus promised every believer, not only ministers, power to do the works that He did (Matthew 17:20; Matthew 21:22; Mark 9:23; Mark 11:22-24; Mark 16:15-20; John 14:12-15; John 15:7,16; John 16:23-26; Acts 1:4-8).

23. Gifts of healing and other gifts are promised as the spiritual equipment of the truly born again church  (1 Cor. 1:7; 1 Cor. 12:1-11; Romans 1:11; Romans 12:6-8; Romans 15:18-19,29; Hebrews 2:3-4).

24. Healing is part of the work of the church (Matthew 10:1-8; Luke 10:1-21; Luke 24:49; Acts 1:1-8; 1 Cor. 12; James 5:14-16).

25. Healing is provided as part of Christ's atonement (Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:16-17; Matthew 13:14-15; John 3:14; John 10:10; Romans 1:16; Romans 8:11; 1 Cor. 11:23-32; Galatians 3:13; James 5:14-16; 1 Peter 2:24; 3 John 1:2; cp. Exodus 15:26; Psalm 91; Psalm 103:3).

26. Healing is part of the children's bread and their promised right by virtue of redemption (Matthew 7:7-11; Matthew 15:22-28; Matthew 17:20; Matthew 21:22; Mark 9:23; Mark 11:22-24; Luke 13:16; John 3:14-16; John 14:12-15; John 15:7,16; John 16:23-26; 1 John 3:8,20-22; 1 John 5:14-15; 3 John 1:2).

27. Healing is one of the signs of the gospel to follow believers (Mark 16:15-20).

28. Healing was not only for the Old Testament days (Exodus 15:26; Psalm 91; Psalm 103:3) and for the Millennium (Isaiah 30:26; Isaiah 33:24; Isaiah 35:1-10). It is also for this age, or the gospel is faulty and the new covenant worse than the old one (Matthew 8:17; Matthew 21:22; Mark 9:23; Mark 11:22-24; Mark 16:15-20; John 14:12-15; John 15:7,16; 2 Cor. 3:6-15; 1 Cor. 12:1-11; Hebrews 2:3-4).

29. Healing proves that God's promises are true (2 Cor. 1:20; see above point).

30.Healing is part of salvation, for the Hebrew and Greek words for "salvation" all imply the ideas of forgiveness, healing, health, and full deliverance from the curse (Romans 1:16; Galatians 3:13; 1 Peter 2:24).

31. Healing can naturally be expected as part of the infinite care of God over His children (Matthew 6:10; Matthew 7:7-11; Matthew 17:20; Matthew 21:22; Mark 9:23; Mark 11:22-24; Luke 11:1-13; Luke 18:1-18; John 14:12-15; John 15:7,16; John 16:23-26; Hebrews 11:6; James 1:4-8; James 5:14-16).

32. Healing is on the same basis as forgiveness of sins—prayer and faith (Matthew 9:1-7; Matthew 13:15; Matthew 21:22; Acts 28:27; James 1:4-8; James 5:14-16; Hebrews 11:6).

33. Healing proves the resurrection of Christ and the descent of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:4-8; Acts 2:33; Acts 3:16; Acts 4:12; Romans 8:11).

34. God has provided all necessary means of healing and complete defeat of satanic powers (2 Cor. 10:4-5; Ephes. 6:10-18; Mark 16:15-20; John 14:12-15; James 4:7; James 5:14-16; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 Peter 5:7-9).

35. Healing is always the will of God for His people who may:  "ask what ye will" (John 15:7); "whatsoever" (Matthew 21:22; John 14:12-15; John 15:16); "anything" (John 14:14); "what things soever ye desire" (Mark 11:22-24); and "much more" than earthly parents would or could give their children (Matthew 7:7-11).

Thus, it is clear in Scripture that physical healing is provided for in the Old and New Testaments. The New Testament is based upon better promises than the Old Testament (Hebrews 8:6).

And he took them, and went aside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsaida. [11] And the people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing.

Luke 10:9  And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.

Luke 13:14  And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.

Luke 14:3-4  And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day? [4] And they held their peace. And he took him, and healed him, and let him go;

John 5:10  The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.

Acts 4:14  And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.

Acts 5:16  There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

Acts 8:7  For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.

Acts 28:9  So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed:

Exodus 15:26  And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.

Jude 1:5  Jude 1:5  I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

[afterward destroyed them that believed not]

Twenty-one Examples of Beings Fallen from Grace

1. Lucifer.  He was sinless and walked in the ways of God perfectly until he sinned (Ezekiel 28:11-17, notes).  He fell from God's favor and was cast out of heaven (Isaiah 14:12-14; Luke 10:8).  He became sinful and lustful (John 8:44) and destined to eternal hell (Matthew 25:41; Rev. 20:10).

2. Holy angels.  Over one-third of God's holy angels rebelled with Lucifer (Rev. 12:3, 7-12) and became destined to hell with Satan (Matthew 25:41; Isaiah 24:21).  Many of these committed the additional sin of fornication and are now in hell (2 Peter 2:4; Jude 1:6-7).  Angels are sons of God (Genesis 6:1-4; Job 1:6; Job 2:1; Job 38:4-7) and yet those who sin are to be punished forever in hell, so sonship is no unforfeitable guarantee of heaven.

3. Demons (familiar spirits).  They were also created sinless and in God's grace and favor. That they sinned and are doomed to eternal hell is clear from their own admission of being worthy of punishment (Matthew 8:29; Mark 5:7; Luke 8:28-32; James 2:19).  Many of them are now in the abyss (Rev. 9).

4. Pre-adamites.  According to Genesis 1:2; Isaiah 14:12-14; Jeremiah 4:23-26; Ezekiel 28:11-17; 2 Peter 3:5-8 and other scriptures, Lucifer ruled the earth before Adam and caused all the people of his kingdom to lose God's favor and be destroyed in the flood of Genesis 1:2; 2 Peter 3:5-8.  Not one person, animal, city, or plant was left alive (Jeremiah 4:23-26).

5. Adam and Eve were created in God's grace or favor (Genesis 1:26-31). They fell from grace by sin and lost the eternal life they would have kept if they had not sinned (Genesis 2:17; Genesis 3:1-19; Romans 5:12-21; 2 Cor. 11:3).

Nothing is ever said of their salvation from sin.  They are not listed with the faith-worthies of the Old  Testament (Hebrews 11).  Adam was still a sinner at the age of 810 years. He was a son of God (Luke 3:38).  Thus, again, sonship is proved not to be a guarantee of eternal life.  God promises to punish every angel or man who sins regardless of sonship or relationship (see 210 Plain Laws and Warnings, below).

6. Adamites.  Every person born of Adam was once in grace in Adam and fell from grace or favor when Adam did, for they were in Adam's loins when he sinned.  This is why death passed upon all men (Romans 5:12-21; 1 Cor. 15:21-22; 2 Cor. 11:3).  If all people fell from the same favor Adam did and are commanded to regain grace in Christ, then it is settled that falling from grace and regaining it can happen more  than once (notice, Galatians 4:19).

7. Many Israelites.  Before their sin in Exodus 32 they were born again (Deut. 32:18; Galatians 4:28-29), redeemed (Exodus 15:13; Deut. 21:8), sanctified (Exodus 31:13; Leviticus 20:8), converted (Psalm 19:7), in grace (Exodus 33:12-17; Psalm 84:11), had their names in the book of life (Exodus 32:32-33; Exodus 9:25-29), had the same gospel we have (Galatians 3:6-14; Hebrews 4:2), and had other spiritual experiences (see Old Testament Spiritual Experiences). When they sinned they were cut off from God and were lost (Exodus 32:32-33; 2 Cor. 10:1-18; Hebrews 2:14; Jude 1:5).  Scores of times they forsook God and were cursed (Deut. 17:3; Deut. 29:26; Judges 2:11-23; Judges 3:5-14; Judges 4:1; Judges 5:31; Judges 6:1; Judges  8:28-35; Judges 10:6-11:33; Judges 12:7-13:1; Judges 20:13; 1 Samuel 2:12-36; 1 Samuel 3:11-14; 1 Kings 11:1-13,38-39; 1 Kings 12:25-33; 1 Kings 13:33-34; 1 Kings 14:16-31; 1 Kings 15:29; 1 Kings 16:2; 2 Kings 17:7-23; etc.).

8. Nadab and Abihu, holy priests of God (Exodus 19:6; Exodus 22:31), were cut off in sin (Leviticus 10:1-20; Numbers 3:4).

9. Korah, Dathan, Abiram, and other holy men of God were cut off by sin and went to Sheowl (HSN-7585) (Numbers 16:1-3,23-33).

10. Saul, who had a change of heart and received the Holy Spirit (1 Samuel 10:9-13, 21-24), went into spiritualism (1 Samuel 28; Leviticus 19:31; Leviticus 20:6).  He lost the Holy Spirit (1 Samuel 16:12-23), and died by suicide and was cursed by God (1 Samuel 31:1-6; 1 Chron. 10:13-14).

11. Many disciples of Jesus left Him and His grace and followed Him no more (John 6:66).  They believed for a while (Luke 8:13).  They drew back to perdition (Hebrews 10:26-39).  To receive Christ and confess Him for only a moment brings the new birth, so those who believed for awhile had grace to fall from (John 1:12; 1 John 5:1).

Before Judas submitted (yielded) to Satan!

12. Judas was once saved because:

(1) He was a familiar friend of Christ (Psalm 41:9).  Would Christ call any unsaved man or the devil (as some suppose Judas to be) "mine own familiar friend"?

(2) Christ trusted Judas at one time or He would not have said "in whom I trusted" (Psalm 41:9).  Hebrew: batach (HSN-982), to confide in, as to be secure without fear.  Used in this sense 107 times.  Would He have confided in such a man if he had always been untrustworthy?

(3) Judas ate of Christ's bread (Psalm 41:9).  This always assures eastern people of very personal and intimate friendship.

(4) He had his name written in the book of life with the righteous (cp. Acts 1:20 with Psalm 69:25-28, notes).

(5) Judas, was a bishop of the church Christ is building (Acts 1:20 with Psalm 109:8).

(6) Judas, had part of the apostolic ministry (Acts 1:17, 25).

(7) Christ also had given Judas power against unclean spirits to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and disease.  This was true of the twelve, Judas included (Matthew 10:1-4).

(8) He was sent forth as one of the twelve to represent Christ among Israel (Matthew 10:5-6).

(9) He was called to preach (Matthew 10:7).

(10) He was commanded to heal the sick, cleanse lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils (Matthew 10:8; Mark 3:14-15; Mark 6:7; Luke 9:1-2).

(11) He freely received power to heal and it was commanded that he freely give (Matthew 10:8).

(12) He had the peace of God to give to a home as did all others of the twelve (Matthew 10:13).

(13) He was a sheep in the midst of wolves like others of the twelve (Matthew 10:16).

(14) He had the Holy Spirit in him (Matthew 10:19-20). [Judas did not have the fullness of the Holy Ghost as they did on the day of Pentecost.]

(15) He was ordained by Christ to the ministry as much as the others (Mark 3:14).

(16) He was just as successful in preaching and healing as others (Mark 6:12-13; Luke 9:6, 10).

(17) He was an apostle, meaning he was one divinely called and sent to do the work of God (Luke 6:13; note, Acts 15:33).

(18) Judas fell by sin from the ministry and apostleship (Acts 1:25). How could he do this if he was always a sinner, as some say?

(19) Satan entered into Judas at the close of Christ's ministry, proving that he was not always an agent of the devil, much less one from the beginning (Luke 22:3; John 13:2).  Therefore, he backslid (an Apostate) and became a thief (John 12:6), a devil (John 6:70, Greek: adversary), and the betrayer.  To make Judas the very devil, a devil from the beginning and an unsaved man never in grace is to ignore the plain  facts of Scripture.

(20) He once had eternal life, as proved from John 17:2 where we read of Christ giving eternal life "to as  many as Thou hast given him."  Then in John 17:12 it is stated that of "those that Thou gavest Me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition."  It is clear, then, that Judas was given to Jesus and Jesus had once given him eternal life.

(By this understanding, once you have repented of your sins and confessed Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and have asked Jesus Christ to forgive you of your sins and to come into your heart, you have Eternal Life (which “is” Jesus Christ) as long as Jesus Christ remains in your heart. If you (the person) choose to turn away from Jesus Christ (becoming an apostate) and go back into sin, you (the person) no longer have Jesus Christ (ETERNAL LIFE) because you (the person) have turned your back on Jesus Christ and the righteousness of Christ. Therefore, if you (the Person) in that circumstance chose to turn back into sin (became Apostate) and by choosing the pleasure of sin and perdition, you (the person) loose ETERNAL LIFE (Jesus Christ). Jesus Christ will NOT be a party to sin (take part, participate)!

13. Ananias and Sapphira were saved and of one heart and one soul with all the church (Acts 4:32-5:1), until they agreed to lie to the Holy Ghost at which time they were killed (Acts 5:1-11).  "Great grace was upon them all," including Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 4:33; Acts 5:1).

14. The Galatians who had begun in the Spirit and had received the Spirit (Jude 3:2-4), were soon removed from Christ and grace (Jude 1:6; Jude 5:4).

15. Demas, a preacher in the early church (Col. 4:14; Philemon 1:24) went back into sin, having loved this present world (2 Tim. 4:10).  If any man loves the world the love of the Father is not in him.  He is lost if he does not come back to God (1 John 2:15-17).

16. Hymenaeus and Alexander were one time in the faith, but made shipwreck of it and put away faith (1 Tim. 1:19-20).

17. Many others coveted money and erred from the faith (1 Tim. 6:10,21).

18. Many young widows waxed cold toward Christ and cast off their first faith and were damned (1 Tim. 5:11-13).

19. Hymenaeus and Philetus erred from the faith and overthrew the faith of others (2 Tim. 2:17-19).

20. Apostates were once saved, but fell away and departed from the faith.  See Romans 1:21-32; Hebrews 6:4-9; Hebrews 10:26-29; 2 Peter 2:20-22.

21. Many in the churches were once saved but later threatened with destruction if they did not repent (Rev. 2:5, 10, 16, 20-23; Rev. 3:3, 11, 16).

Besides the above examples of being cut off from God because of sin, the Word of God abounds with plain laws, commands and warnings of punishment for those who return to sin.  These make it clear that there are no unconditional promises and covenants in Scripture.  Passages where no conditions are expressed are automatically limited by hundreds of kindred verses stating conditions to be met.  It is not always necessary to state the conditions in every passage.  When stated in some, it is clear they apply to all companion scriptures.  For example, in 1 Chron. 22:10 God promises to establish Solomon's throne over Israel forever, but this unconditionally stated promise is based upon obedience as seen in points 27-35 below.

Scriptures Stating Assurance

1. Whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life ... hath everlasting life ... shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life (John 3:15-16,36; John 5:24).

2. I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand (or My Father's hand, John 10:27-29).

3. I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels ... nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God (Romans 8:35-39).

5. There is now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1).

6. He shall be holden up:  for God is able to make him stand (Romans 14:4).

7. Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that you may be blameless ...  God is faithful, by whom you are called into the fellowship of Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 1:8-9).

16. Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory (Jude 1:24).

Eternal security is, therefore, taught in Scripture on the basis of obedience to God.  John 6:27; John 10:27-29; John 15:1-8; 1 Cor. 9:27; Hebrews 6:4-9; Hebrews 10:26-29; 2 Peter 2:20-22.  If men truly want security, let them meet God's terms.  No man is obligated to sin.  God has made full provision to keep men and present them faultless in heaven if they will cooperate; but no provision except hell is made for rebels.  All hope of assurance while living in rebellion is a fool's hope.  Any teaching of security that encourages sin is false and satanic.  True security is through faith and obedience to God and grace, not disobedience and disgrace.

Isaiah 53:1-5  Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? [2] For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. [3] He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. [4] Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. [5] But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Isaiah 53:6-9  All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. [7] He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. [8] He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. [9] And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

Isaiah 53:10-12  Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. [11] He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. [12] Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Two Reasons All should Believe

1. The report itself. God has spoken by the mouths of the prophets since the world began (Acts 3:21; Hebrews 1:1-3; 1 Peter 1:10-12). God Himself began the long list of prophecies of the coming Redeemer by promising that the Seed of the Woman would crush the serpent's head and restore man's dominion (Genesis 3:15-16). Abraham and Isaac spoke of Him coming through their seed (Genesis 12:1-3; Genesis 15:4-6; Genesis 17:4-8,19-21; Genesis 21:12; Genesis 26:4). Jacob said He would come from Judah (Genesis 49:10). Moses predicted Him as a prophet like himself (Deut. 18:15-19). David referred to Him as coming from his seed (2 Samuel 7). Isaiah said He would be born of a virgin in Judah of the house of David (Isaiah 7:14; Isaiah 9:6-7), and pictured His rejection and sufferings (Isaiah 52:13-53:12). Others also made reports of His coming, so Israel had no excuse for their unbelief when He did come.

2. Miracles confirming the report. The report was not only predicted and then literally fulfilled in Jesus of Nazareth, but there were also miracles confirming to Israel the fact that He was the true Messiah sent by God (Isaiah 11:1-2; Isaiah 42:1-6; Isaiah 61:1-2; Matthew 11:1-6; Luke 4:16-18; Acts 2:22; Acts 10:38). The arm of the Lord is figurative of His power, which Isaiah predicted would be revealed along with the report (John 5:20,36; John 10:25-38; John 12:38-40; John 14:10-12; John 15:24)

Ten Proofs that Christ Bore Sin and Sickness

1. It is so stated in Isaiah 53:4-5: Surely (Hebrew: aken (HSN-403), surely; firmly; certainly) He hath borne our griefs (sicknesses and diseases, as in Grief Defined, above), and carried our sorrows ... He was wounded (pierced, slain physically) for our transgressions ... bruised for our iniquities ... with His stripes we are healed.

2. The quotation and fulfillment of this prophecy in Matthew 8:16-17 proves that the bearing of sicknesses and infirmities was physical, not spiritual healing. Physical healing is mentioned hundreds of times in covenant, promise, prophecy, and experience in Scripture, whereas healing of the soul is mentioned only one time - in  Psalm 41:4.

3. Many versions confirm this plain truth of Isaiah 53:3-5,10 and state that both sin and sickness were borne by Christ in His sufferings, and that physical healing and forgiveness of sins were both provided for in the atonement of Christ. Berkeley: "acquainted with sickness ... Surely He has borne our sicknesses ... pierced for our transgressions ... bruised for our iniquities ... with His stripes we are healed"; Septuagint: "He bears our sins ... by His bruises we were healed"; Peshitta: "He was slain for our sins ... with His wounds we are healed"; Moffatt: "A man of pain, who knew what sickness was ... ours was the pain He bore ... He was wounded because we had sinned, 'twas our misdeeds that crushed Him ... the blows that fell to Him have brought us healing"; Fenton: "He was convicted because of our crimes, and punished because of our vices; and by His stripes we were healed ... yet the Lord pleased to depress Him with pain"; Young: "A man of pains, and acquainted with sickness ... Surely our sicknesses He hath borne, and our pains - He hath carried  them ... by His bruise there is healing to us ... He hath made Him sick"; Rotherham: "Man of pains and familiar with sickness ... surely our sicknesses He carried, and as for our pains He bare the burden of them ... He was pierced for transgressions that were ours, was crushed for iniquities that were ours, - the chastisement for our well-being was upon Him, and by His stripes there is healing for us ... He laid on Him  sickness."

4. According to the Hebrew (as in versions quoted above) Isaiah 53:10 plainly says that He (Jehovah) hath made Him sick, depressed Him with pain, laid on Him sickness - in addition to His soul being made an offering for sin.  He was made sick for men as He was made sin for them.  The idea is that He became the sick offering as well as the sin offering for man.  Naturally, He never committed personal sin, neither was guile found in His mouth (1 Peter 2:21-22).  He never committed robbery, adultery, blasphemy, or any other sin; yet it is stated in 2 Cor. 5:21 that He was made sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.  Likewise, He did not personally experience all the sicknesses and diseases, but He became sick in the sense of becoming an offering for sickness.  He made atonement for sin and all its  effects.  Both sin and sickness were a part of the one curse, and both became a part of the one redemption.  Christ atoned for and made provision for sickness to be healed, as well as for sin to be forgiven.

5. God does nothing to remove sin, sickness, and every other part of the curse, apart from the redemptive work of Christ. Even the future restoration of the earth, the creatures on earth, and the whole human family, including their bodies, souls, and spirits, will be done through redemption (Romans 8:18-25). How could redemption be apart from atonement, and how could it be complete without provision for the body as well as the soul? If the whole creation will be delivered from the bondage of corruption it is bound to be by blood, and will include both body and soul.

6. God has made covenants to heal the body as well as to save the soul (Exodus 15:26; Exodus 23:25; Leviticus 26; Deut. 28; Matthew 26:28). Promises and prophecies were made also to this end; and God sent Jesus Christ to fulfill these and demonstrate the provisions for man by healing the body and saving the soul (Matthew 8:16-17; Matthew 9:5-6; John 10:10; Acts 10:38). Christ sent the early disciples out to carry  on such work (Matthew 10; Matthew 28:20; Mark 16:5-20; Luke 10; Luke 24:49; Acts 1:1-2,8; 1 Cor. 12:1-11; Hebrews 2:3-4).

7. God has declared that healing will accompany conversion if the gospel is taught properly and men receive and act on the truth (Isaiah 6:9-13; Job 33:14-29; Psalm 103:3; Matthew 9:5-6; Matthew 13:14-17; Acts 28:24-28; James 5:14-16).

8. Peter confirmed the doctrine of Isaiah in stating that Christ bore the sins of all men in His body on the cross, and that by His stripes we are healed (1 Peter 2:24).

9. In typology, atonement is associated with healing in many scriptures. Whole chapters are devoted to making atonement for sins and sicknesses and even for the minutest touch of uncleanness—that of merely touching dead bodies, graves, issue of blood in childbirth, leprosy, etc. (Leviticus 12:7-8; Leviticus 14:1-57; Leviticus 15:1-33). Why these detailed instructions in connection with atonement for cleansing from sin  and sickness in typology, if there is no connection between atonement and healing of disease in Christ who fulfilled the types?

10. In many cases of healing recorded in both testaments, prayer and atonement were fully recognized as God's method of dealing with sin and sickness. Note the necessity of atonement and proper confession of sin in the various healings (Exodus 32; Numbers 11:1-3; Numbers 12:1-16; Numbers 16:46-50; Numbers 21:1-9 with John 3:14; 2 Samuel 24; Matthew 8:1-4,16-17). Many died of sickness in Corinth because they did not recognize and appropriate healing through the broken body and shed blood of Christ (1 Cor. 11:27-34). Christ Himself recognized atonement in connection with healing (Matthew 8:1-4).

[borne]

Borne Defined

Hebrew: nasa (HSN-5375), to lift; bear; carry away; cast away; ease; erase; take away.  The idea is that of one person taking the burden of another and placing it on himself, as carrying an infant; or, as the flood lifted up the ark (Isaiah 53:4; Psalm 103:12; Matthew 8:16-17; 1 John 3:5).  If Christ bore our griefs (sicknesses, as in Grief Defined, above), then they were taken away in the same sense sins are taken away, or borne, as in Isaiah 53:11.  This was not only done for people who lived during the few years of Christ's ministry on earth, but it was accomplished for all men of all ages.  If sickness was borne only for these few, then sins were likewise borne only for these few, and others are lost, are subject to sickness, and have no remedy for either.

[our griefs]

Griefs, sicknesses (Grief Defined).

[carried]

Carried Defined

Hebrew:  cabal (HSN-5445), to carry; bear.  Translated carried (Isaiah 53:4); bear (Isaiah 53:11; Genesis 49:15; 2 Chron. 2:2); and burden (Eccles. 12:5).  The idea in all these passages is that the full load is borne by the one carrying it so that all others might be free of it.  The meaning is that Christ bore all our sicknesses and pains so that we do not need to have them; if we do have them it is because we have not unloaded them on Him, by faith.  There is no need for us to bear them if He bore them.  If God had not intended for His people to be free from such, then He would not have laid them upon Christ to bear for us (Isaiah 53:3-4,6,8,11).  One can be rid of his sicknesses as well as his sins upon the same basis of prayer and faith in the atonement.  We must believe in the provision to experience the benefits.  All the promises of Scripture and all benefits of the gospel are for believers, not unbelievers.  The law of God is that the one who believes will be blessed, and the one who doesn't believe won't be blessed (Mark 1:15; Mark 16:15-20; John 7:37-39; John 14:12-15; Hebrews 11:6; James 1:5-8).  In all things the rule is:  "According to your faith be it unto you" (Matthew 8:13; Matthew 9:29).

[we did esteem him]

Messiah's Reception

The idea here is that those who rejected the Messiah sinned the greatest by condemning Him to death, turning their faces from the very sufferings they caused, and supposing that He was suffering on account of His own sins and crimes, and that God was meting out proper justice to Him in striking, smiting, and afflicting Him (Isaiah 53:4).  In this they erred, for it was not His own sins, sicknesses, pains, and sorrows that He bore, but ours. It was not for His own crimes that God suffered Him to be stricken, smitten, and afflicted, but for those of all others.  Being so judged by God did not prove that He was a sinner and deserved what He suffered, but that we were the greatest of sinners and deserved punishment.  It only demonstrated the love of God when He freely gave Christ to be a substitute for such sufferings, and it further proved love on Christ's part when He showed Himself willing to become such a substitute.  We deserved what He suffered, but He was the one who bore such penalties for sin.

[stricken]

Messiah Stricken

Hebrew: naga€ (HSN-5060), to touch; lay the hand upon; strike violently; bring down; smite with a plague (Isaiah 53:4; Deut. 21:4). Translated touch with various endings, 92 times.

[smitten]

Hebrew: nakah (HSN-5221), to strike; beat; kill; punish; slaughter; slay; smite; wound; stripe (Isaiah 53:4; Isaiah 10:24; Isaiah 11:4; Isaiah 50:6; Zech. 12:4; Malachi 4:6).  For the sins of the people He was stricken (Isaiah 53:8).

[afflicted]

Hebrew: €anah (HSN-6030), browbeat; depress; abase self; afflict (Isaiah 53:4,7; Isaiah 58:3,10; Isaiah 63:9).

Why God Was Pleased with the Death of Christ

The only reason it pleased God to permit Him to be crucified was to bring about the redemption of the whole creation so that His eternal program could be carried out with man on earth. He could not have been pleased with the mutilation of His beloved Son because He punished men for this (Acts 2:22-24; 1 Thes. 2:16). Both the Father and the Son volunteered to suffer such indignities for the salvation of men (John 3:16; John 10:18). Such a sacrifice on the part of God showed His divine perfection, justice, mercy, and boundless benevolence. The law was upheld, sin was judged, and a basis of pardon and eternal reconciliation was made possible.

[bruise him]

[grief]

Messiah Made Sick

Hebrew:  chalah (HSN-2470), to be rubbed or worn; weak; sick; afflicted; to grieve; make sick; suffer a stroke; be diseased; have infirmity; put to pain; be wounded.  It is translated "sick" 34 times (Isaiah 33:24; Isaiah 38:1,9; Isaiah 39:1; Genesis 48:1; 1 Samuel 19:14; 1 Samuel 30:13; 2 Samuel 13:2-6; 1 Kings 14:1,5; 1 Kings 17:17; 2 Kings 1:2; 2 Kings 8:7,29; 2 Kings 13:14; 2 Kings 20:1,12; 2 Chron. 22:6; 2 Chron. 32:24; Neh. 2:2; Psalm 35:13; Proverbs 13:12; Proverbs 23:35; Song 2:5; Song 5:8; Ezekiel 34:4,16; Daniel 8:27; Hosea 7:5; Micah 6:13; Malachi 1:8,13); "diseased" (1 Kings 15:23; 2 Chron. 16:12); "infirmity" (Psalm 77:10); "pain" (Jeremiah 12:13); "wounded" (1 Kings 22:34; 2 Chron. 18:33; 2 Chron. 35:23); "grief" (Isaiah 53:10;  Isaiah 17:11); "grieved" (Amos 6:6); and "grievous" (Jeremiah 10:19; Jeremiah 14:17; Jeremiah 30:12; Nahum 3:19).  This could literally read:  He has made Him sick.  This, of course, refers to the time Christ took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses (Isaiah 53:4-5,10; Matthew 8:16-17; 1 Peter 2:24).  See Isaiah 53:3-5.

Ten Statements about the Body:

1. That the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead to sin is free from sin (Romans 6:6-7).

2. Who walk not after (according to) the flesh, but after the Spirit (Romans 8:1-4).

3. If Christ be in you the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is life because of righteousness (Romans 8:10).

4. We are debtors not to the flesh, to live after (according to) the flesh. For if you live after the flesh, you shall die: but if you through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, you shall live (Romans 8:12-13).

5. Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service (Romans 12:1-2).

6. The body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body (2 Cor. 6:13).

7. Your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost; therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit (2 Cor. 6:19-20).

8. Know you not that you are (your body is) the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If any man defile the temple of God (the body), him shall God destroy: for the temple of God is holy, which temple you are (2 Cor. 3:16-17).

9. I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway (2 Cor. 9:27).

10. You are circumcised ... without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh (Col. 2:11).

These and other statements about the body and flesh emphasize the will of God concerning the body. It is clear that God wants the body as well as the soul and spirit of man to be redeemed. Why would He want the body to be sinful, sick, diseased, and infirm if He is to dwell in it? Why would He want it unclean, depraved, and helpless? It cannot be that He would rather dwell in such a body, or prefer it to a clean, healthy, sinless one. This explains the purpose of Christ in bearing our sins, sicknesses, and infirmities, and shows why atonement includes the cleaning up of the body, soul, and spirit from all sin, disease, and corruption. If God provided healing for Israel, made covenants to heal them until there was not one feeble person in all their tribes (Psalm 105:37; Psalm 107:20); if He gave promises of physical healing and health (Psalm 91; Psalm 103:3; Isaiah 53:4-5; Isaiah 58:1-12); and then made a better covenant by Christ, it should be understood as including all these blessings and more (Hebrews 8:6). If, as stated, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8), this alone should be proof of such provision and that He will heal today as He did in the days of His life on earth.

[thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin]

Seven Things Messiah Suffered of God

1. He was stricken by God (Isaiah 53:4,8).

2. He was smitten by God (Isaiah 53:4).

3. He was afflicted by God.

4. God laid on Him the iniquity of us all (Isaiah 53:6,11).

5. God bruised Him (Isaiah 53:10).

6. He was put Him to grief—made Him sick.

7. God made Him an offering for sin and sickness (Isaiah 53:4-5,10).

[soul]

Complete Sacrifice

Himself - His entire self, not His personal soul only. It took His body, soul, and spirit to make a complete offering for sin and sickness. He was a complete substitute for man. Since the body, soul, and spirit of man had sinned and were under the sentence of death, it took the whole being of the Messiah to take man's place. The word soul is sometimes used of an individual (Genesis 12:5; Genesis 41:26). There is no such thing as sinning with the flesh and not with the soul and spirit, as taught by some. The flesh cannot be filthy and the soul and spirit be holy. The body became sinful, depraved, and diseased by sin in the fall, and the body must be redeemed from these things if redemption is to be complete.

[offering for sin]

Hebrew: asham (HSN-817), trespass offering; an offering for sin (Isaiah 53:10; Leviticus 5:19; Leviticus 7:5; Leviticus 12:12,21; Leviticus 19:21; 1 Samuel 6:3,8,17).

[see his seed]

Twelve Rewards of the Messiah for Suffering

1. He will be exalted above all (Isaiah 52:13; Ephes. 1:20-23; Phil. 2:9-11; 1 Peter 3:22; Rev. 11:15; Rev. 20:4-6).

2. He became the Savior of many nations (Isaiah 52:15).

3. He became the wonder of kings.

4. He became the healer of all (Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:16-17; 1 Peter 2:24).

5. He became an example to all (Isaiah 52:9; 1 Peter 2:2-22).

6. He will produce a spiritual and an eternal seed (Isaiah 53:10).

7. Prolonged eternal days.

8. Prosperity of God's pleasure in seeing all creation redeemed.

9. The satisfaction of seeing the travail of His soul in the restoration of all things to God (Isaiah 53:11; 1 Cor. 15:24-28).

10. Justification of many (Isaiah 53:11).

11. Greatness above others (Isaiah 53:12; Ephes. 1:20-23; Col. 1:15-18; 1 Peter 3:22).

12. A portion with the great and conquest of the strong (Isaiah 53:12).

[prolong his days]

He shall live again in resurrection, and live eternally, for it was impossible for Him to be held in death (John 10:18; Acts 2:24-36; 1 Cor. 15).

[pleasure of the LORD]

The pleasure of the Lord is that of seeing all creation redeemed and restored to Himself as before the rebellions of Lucifer and Adam (Romans 8:18-25; 1 Cor. 15:24-28; Ephes. 1:10; Ephes. 3:11; Rev. 11:15).

[in his hand]

"In His hand" means by His rule and government all things will be restored to God and all enemies put down (Isaiah 53:10; 1 Cor. 15:24-28; Rev. 11:15).

We, the born again, redeemed by the Blood of Jesus Christ!

Having received and keep (abide by) the promises (covenants) of God also have been given the promise of God that if we obey His Commandments (and statutes) and no longer transgress against Him, He will honor His promises with us which Honor Him faithfully and bestows promises upon us that faithfully obey Him.

Psalm 91:1  He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. [2] I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. [3] Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. [4] He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. [5] Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; [6] Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. [7] A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. [8] Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. [9] Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; [10] There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

Psalm 91:11  For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. [12] They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Psalm 91:13-16  Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. [14] Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. [15] He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. [16] With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

[Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder:  the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet] This promises power over wild beasts and creeping things, as well as over all satanic powers symbolized by them (Genesis 3:15; Mark 16:17-18; Luke 10:19; Rev. 12:9).

O-give praise unto The Name of The Lord for He is Worthy of All Praise!

Many are the promises of God. They cover every known need of life, here and hereafter, and reveal to what extent God has made provision to help man in his struggle to overcome sin, sickness, and Satan, and regain the full dominion that he lost in Adam when he fell. The ultimate purpose of God in all His present dealings with man is to bring him back to the place where he was before the fall and purge him of all possibility of failing in the future.

Psalm 92:1  A Psalm or Song for the sabbath day. It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: [2] To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night, [3] Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound. [4] For thou, Lord, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands. [5] O Lord, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep. [6] A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this. [7] When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever: [8] But thou, Lord, art most high for evermore. [9] For, lo, thine enemies, O Lord, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered. [10] But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.

Come quickly Lord Jesus. Amen and amen!
