KNOWING THE WILL OF GOD - PART I
Romans 8:27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
[he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit] This is no doubt Christ who knows the mind of the Spirit. God the Father (John 4:24; 1 Chron. 28:9; Jeremiah 17:10); Jesus Christ The Son of God (Rev. 2:23); and The Holy Spirit Spirit (1 Cor. 2:10).
[intercession] Greek: entungchano (GSN-1793), to intercede; to act as an agent or manager in all phases of salvation and dealings with God (Romans 8:27,34; Romans 11:2; Hebrews 7:25). Translated "deal with" Acts 25:24.
1 Thes. 4:3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
[this is the will of God] Fourteen requirements of the will of God and of sanctification (1 Thes. 4:3-18):
1. Abstain from fornication or all kinds of sex sins (1 Thes. 4:3; Matthew 5:32).
2. Know how to possess the vessel in sanctification and honor (1 Thes. 4:4).
3. Not in the lust of concupiscence or strong sexual desire (1 Thes. 4:5; Col. 3:5). Here it means excessive sexual lust like that of the Gentiles who knew no bounds.
4. That no man defraud his brother by seducing his wife to corrupt her and break up a home (1 Thes. 4:6). This still refers to sexual sins and not to cheating, for it is dealing with sexual uncleanness down to 1 Thes. 4:7. Every type of perversion was practiced among the heathen. Their gods, their rulers, and their teachers were examples of impurity. They had no system of ethics that forbade these practices. The Christian religion forbade them as worthy of death and hell and this has preserved the world from complete ruin to this day.
5. Walk in holiness, not in uncleanness of sexual perversion (1 Thes. 4:7; Romans 1:24).
6. Do not despise men (1 Thes. 4:8).
7. Love one another (1 Thes. 4:9; 1 Cor. 13).
8. Increase in love (1 Thes. 4:10; 1 Thes. 3:12).
9. Study to be quiet (1 Thes. 4:11; 2 Tim. 2:15).
10. Be diligent in business (1 Thes. 4:11).
11. Work with your hands (1 Thes. 4:11; 1 Cor. 4:12; Ephes. 4:28; 2 Thes. 3:10).
12. Walk honestly before men (1 Thes. 4:12).
13. Have a bright hope (1 Thes. 4:13-17).
14. Comfort one another (1 Thes. 4:18).
[sanctification] Greek: hagiasmos (GSN-38), consecration. Translated "holiness" (Romans 6:19, 22; 1 Thes. 4:7; 1 Tim. 2:15; Hebrews 12:14) and "sanctification" (1 Cor. 1:30; 1 Thes. 4:3-4; 2 Thes. 2:13; 1 Peter 1:2).
1 Thes. 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Receiving
the promise of the Heavenly Father
is the will of God!
1 Peter 3:17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.
[that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing]
Six things to do in view of suffering:
1. Be happy in suffering (1 Peter 3:14; Matthew 5:10).
2. Be not afraid of man (1 Peter 3:14; Matthew 10:28).
3. Be not troubled by trouble (1 Peter 3:14).
4. Take suffering as unto God and hold Him sacred in your heart (1 Peter 3:15).
5. Be ready to give an account of your life, conduct, and hope (1 Peter 3:15).
6. Maintain a good conscience by good behavior (1 Peter 3:16).
1 John 2:17 And
the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he
that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
[the world passeth away, and the lust thereof; but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever] The world system passes away, but the man who does not conform to it abides forever.
[passeth away] Greek: parago (GSN-3855). Translated "pass away" (1 John 2:17; 1 Cor. 7:31); "pass by" (Matthew 20:30; Mark 2:14; Mark 15:21; John 8:59; John 9:1); "pass" (1 John 2:8); "pass forth" (Matthew 9:9); and "depart" (Matthew 9:27). Not the same as parerchomai (GSN-3928) (2 Peter 3:10). Neither word means annihilation, but a change, passing out of operation, or away from man's realm.
[doeth the will of God abideth for ever]

make his own decision!

Deut. 12:28 Observe and hear all these words which I command thee, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee for ever, when thou doest that which is good and right in the sight of the Lord thy God.
[Observe and hear all these words which I command thee]
Nine
Things that Israel Was to Observe (do)
1. The Feast of Unleavened Bread (Exodus 12:17)
2. The Passover (Exodus 12:24; Deut. 16:1)
3. The Sabbaths (Exodus 31:16)
4. The Feast of Weeks (Exodus 34:22), Pentecost
5. The Feast of Tabernacles (Deut. 16:13)
6. All sacrifices in season (Numbers 28:2)
7. Laws regulating disease (Deut. 24:8)
8. God's ways (Proverbs 23:26)
9. All God's commandments, statutes, and judgments (Exodus 34:11; Leviticus 19:37; Deut. 5:32; Deut. 6:1-3,25; Deut. 8:1; Deut. 11:32; Deut. 12:1,28,32; Deut. 15:5; Deut. 16:12; Deut. 17:10; Deut. 28:1,13,15,58; Deut. 31:12; Deut. 32:46; Joshua 1:7-8; 2 Kings 17:37; 2 Kings 21:8; 2 Chron. 7:17; Neh. 1:5; Neh. 10:29; Psalm 105:45; Psalm 107:43; Ezekiel 37:24)
Christians are to observe all things Christ commanded (Matthew 28:20; 1 Tim. 5:21). How to observe: with the whole heart (Psalm 119:34).
[when thou doest that which is good and right in the sight of the LORD thy God] This principle of being blessed when that which is righteous is done is not only in the old covenant, but also in the new covenant (Deut. 12:28; Matthew 6:33; 2 Cor. 9:6; Galatians 6:7-8).
3 John 1:11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.
